Grand Hyatt Muscat — Hotel in Muscat

I can not say enough about the Grand Hyatt Muscat. The hotel and grounds are stunningly gorgeous! From the moment you walk in the lobby, you are met with pure decadence and an elegant fragrance extends through every inch of the hotel with use of diffusers, just exquisite. Views of the city, the mountains and the sea, which provide unlimited sunrise AND sunset views everyday. The hotel is magnificent with the large stained glass windows and perfectly kept grounds. The food was amazing, all of it. Their breakfast was the largest most internationally inclusive and delicious breakfast I have ever seen offered at ANY hotel or fine resort. The food by the pool was the best poolside food I’ve ever eaten, they also have yummy cocktails and mock tails! The restaurants that reside inside are NO exception and the Italian meal we shared at Tuscany was perfection. I didn’t eat a thing anywhere in this hotel that wasn’t delicious (and I’m a foodie). Every moment at the Grand Hyatt was ideal. And most importantly the staff were the best people! So sweet and anticipating every need, and lighthearted with great senses of humor! You also have beach access, it’s a gorgeous stretch of beach that tourists and locals alike enjoy walking along throughout the day. My boyfriend and I traveled 17 days through the Middle East and this hotel and location was by far my favorite, it undoubtedly holds the spot of my favorite hotel in the world (for now). I will add, as a woman (since I have heard questions of safety from women traveling to the Middle East generally or Oman) I’ve never felt safer than I did in Oman and The Grand Hyatt Muscat started to feel so safe and luxurious, I wanted to make it my home!!I never felt safer, even compared to nice parts of Europe). If you are a diver, we went to scuba dive two days and Al Mouj marina is a short drive, ~15 minutes without traffic. The wildlife is never ending! I saw so many sea turtles, moray eels and a whale shark! Driving along the roads in the country we saw Camels, donkeys and so much more. My family’s stay at the Grand Hyatt Muscat was nothing short of spectacular! From the breathtaking Omani architecture and serene gardens to the luxurious, spotless rooms, every detail reflected world-class elegance.

A Minor Hiccup, Handled Perfectly: Yes, the main pool was temporarily unavailable during our visit—a slight disappointment. BUT the hotel’s response was exceptional! They proactively provided us with complimentary access to a nearby luxury hotel’s pool facilities, along with seamless transfers. This thoughtful compensation turned a potential downside into a fun opportunity to explore another beautiful property! It’s rare to see a team turn a negative into a positive so gracefully—true dedication to guest satisfaction.

Dining Excellence & Shining Star Nikita: The culinary journey at The Restaurant was unforgettable! Breakfast buffets offered dazzling variety, and dinner was a feast of fresh, international flavors. The real highlight, however, was Nikita. Her service was perfection—warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. She remembered our preferences, offered brilliant recommendations, and made every meal feel special. Her professionalism and radiant hospitality elevated our entire experience! Nikita isn’t just an employee; she’s an ambassador of Omani warmth.

Beyond Expectations: Location: Perfectly situated—close to the airport, Grand Mosque & Corniche. Room: Spacious, modern oasis with dreamy beds and stunning views. Team: Every staff member smiled, anticipated needs, and radiated pride in their work.

Final Thoughts: Despite the pool’s temporary closure, the Grand Hyatt Muscat exceeded our expectations through unmatched service, Nikita’s personal touch, and their commitment to making things right. We left feeling valued, relaxed, and eager to return.

I’m writing this review and I’m really upset and feeling really unhappy for staying in Grand Hayatt Muscat.

Actually I’ve heard about this hotel from my friends so I just decided finally to experience this hotel.. I’ll start with location was good, and the decor, design, and the music in the lobby was really nice.. the staff in reservation department was really helpful and makes me happy for them assistance specially Miss Sana and Aza.. And the security Mr Abdullah was really amazing person, I really wish to see him again. also the facilities was fine enough.

But ..!!!!

The staff in front desk was extremely Rude, arrogant and careless !!! Until today I’ll not advise anyone to visit this hotel because of the experience I had from Mr Mahmoud. I really really upset and feeling bad because of him..

I’ve been studying about hospitality and working in the hotels enough to know that is this person Not suitable for this job. He have embraced me front of my friends , and made my day unhappy, he didn’t even welcoming us or smile!!! I have made my reservation with a request to have nice. But he have given me a room with NS, with trouble view, without balcony, and with toilet paper only without water! So, I have requested to change my room and give me what I’ve booked for! Specially that I’m smoking but he just responded that he have no rooms! After a long conversation he said that he have a room but I have to pay more or wait ! I’ve been waiting for long time around 3 hours while I was really tired of driving for long way. In the last I came to ask him about the room and he told me to wait more and respond in rude way “ I don’t have anything to do, if want your room wait for it , and if you don’t want it I can’t do anything for you...” so he have advised me to cancel my reservation and turned his back and went.!!!

Unbelievable...!!!
