Location is probably the best aspect of the hotel; it is in a very happening touristy area; the sea front is perfect for walks at any time, but specially so in the morning and late evening. The "local" market Mutrah Souk is very close. There are some great eating options in close vicinity.
The rooms - and the bed - were very small; we could not open two suitcases and keep these on the floor at the same time. The room was quite bereft of life. It was just very basic. The easy to clean tiled floor gave off the feeling of extreme coldness; the room was minus any lamp giving off warmth. An open closet, a side board and a very uncomfortable chair. The washroom did not have even a soap dish or a glass to keep toothbrushes. Although it was very clean and the staff was generally very helpful (specially Mr. Saghir and Mr. Tariq), there were occasions for complaint. One refused to give me a bottle of water unless I had the reception call me; on one morning the receptionist did not know how to put the call through to my room, so she had the calling person (from back home in Pakistan) call back again in five minutes while she called me downstairs to the reception. That way I was able to take the call that was very important.
For one, the internet connection was very poor. Two floors have virtually no internet - the staff described it as "weak". So we had to shift the room twice; given a room on the second floor first but it had no view, so shifted to the fourth which had a view but no internet; so we returned to the original room. It was a tradeoff between the wifi and the view.
The price was compatible with some big branded names and with a slight differential a much better place could be obtained - though probably not with a good location which was the reason I had booked it in the first place. However, to be fair the place was very liked by foreign tourists who thronged the place. If your stay is long, it might be a good idea to get your own internet or only book for 1-2 days to check out...

One of the worst hotel experiences that we had in Muscat. We literally had to check out within 4 hours of checking in and move into a different hotel.
Let me break it down
Pros: Location, just on the corniche. 2 minutes walk to the Matrah Souq
Cons: 1.Its not a hotel, its a basic motel with the most plain interior that ive ever seen. Such rooms I previously saw on a Netflix Series, where a undertrial met his lawyer in the jail.
The toilet was not clean. There were dirty spots on the commode.
No toiletries provided except for two towels.
The bed was filled with mites. This was the main reason we checked out within hours. When we entered the room, we freshened up and I laid down on the bed bed for maybe 15, 20 minutes. After that we went out in our car to have dinner. So immediately after leaving the hotel we started getting rashes and some strange allergy on the skin and we went back to inform the hotel staff. It was shameful that they initially countered my pleas by saying that "Why no other guest has complained". They said that maybe our car might have a mite infestation and that their hotel was clean.
One of the guys was polite and suggested that they would change the bedding and even move our rooms but someone else funnily bought a point up that if the issue is in the bedding (and the bedding is all washed and stored together) then we might face the same problem again.
So after a lot of delibrations and me telling them that a formal complaint will be lodged against them, they decided to issue a full refund after which we moved into a different hotel which offered an amazing stay at a much...
