Fort Café — Restaurant in Muscat

To reach this cafe firstly you have to pay a fee of 2 OMR (this is to enter the fort in the first place) after entering you have to climb a flight of stairs to reach this beautiful cafe. The cafe is quite small. There is no inside seating. The cafe is just a small outlet to pick up coffee and due to popularity it is quite crowded and one might have to stand in line for 10-15 minutes. The seating is very very limited so it’s better to ice u the coffee and roam around the fort for a while. The view is spectacular, it faces the waterfront. The view is one of the most attractive thing about the cafe, as well as the coffee. I had an hazelnut iced latte and I would go back there any day to have it again as it was one of the best coffees I have tried. The desserts are good but in my opinion I would only have a coffee to go rather than a dessert. Everything is served in disposable cutlery as there is no place to sit down and have your food. A fee of OMR 2 (non-Omanis) is required for Muttrah Fort access. The café is located on top of the fort and the flights of stairs are not differently-abled-friendly.

The café however is beautiful and has great views of the ocean, most especially during sunset. Indoor and outdoor seating is available, but very limited. The place gets really crowded immediately after sunset. Tip: Visit by 4:00 p.m. earlier toward sunset for a much lesser crowd.
