CASITA Maya — Hotel in Hicaco

Rooms are just like in the pictures. Very well maintained and super clean. Kitchen is well equipped and you'll find salt&pepper to cook with. Coffee is also provided. The owner is very friendly and helpful. We asked for laundry service and they returned it within few hours for a very fair price. We really enjoyed our stay there and highly recommend Casa Maya. They would regularly check in with us and gave us information about the bus schedule when we were about to leave. They also asked if we need transport to the city center but we said it's fine because we only had backpacks. Well the next day it unexpectedly started to rain like hell and we already thought we would miss the bus as there was no chance to leave in this conditions. However, the owner would unexpectedly drive up to our house and give us a ride. They knew we wanted to take that bus and just came to pick us up because it was raining - without us even asking for it. We are so grateful for this, absolutely amazing...

We rented an apartment for two people for 3 nights. Paola was super helpful with our arrival, leaving the key and instructions for us and communicating via WhatsApp. The apartment was a perfect size for two of us and very clean, simply and nicely decorated - I felt really at home here. Air conditioning works great (and def needed in the high humidity here in December), space to park, hot water for showers, comfy bed, close to centre and places to eat/drink (some places right next door and others are a 10 min walk or 3 min...

Really nice and cozy cabins. Every rooms has a little kitchen that is fully equipped (fridge with freezer, blender, coffee maker, gas stove, even a BBQ grill outside) and a little bar with bar stools. Rooms have AC and a tv and a little private bathroom with shower. Everything super clean and the owners are very friendly. It's a 10 min walk to the center where all the dive shops are, so the neighborhood is quiet, nextdoor there's a pizzeria and an ice cream place and several restaurants within...
