Our stay at the Inn at Palo Alto was amazing.
The Good: • The service, staff, and owners - EXCEPTIONAL! Always willing to help us out to find rides and get us what we needed. • The surroundings - you are enveloped in nature and the space is beautifully kept. • The hot tub/pool - overlooking nature, this was beautiful and calming. Best part of this hotel! • The rooms - very spacious and well equipped. • The Breakfast - Awesome! Self serve mimosas and bloody Mary's (a nice touch) and a nice spread of delicious and healthy options.
The not as good (I wouldn't even say bad): • Taxis were hard to come by, especially for larger groups (we were 6) and later at night (past 5-6pm). That said, the owners and people in the town were always offering us rides when we were 'stuck' without a cab, so that was very nice. • The spiral staircase - to get upstairs (where there's an additional 2-4 beds), is very steep and tiny. Good luck bringing your suitcase up there (my hips were barely able to squeeze in). We kept our stuff downstairs as a result. • The cold - I didn't think to bring extra warm clothes for night time, but bundled up with my leggings, hoodie, and socks every night to stay warm. I was able to get a few extra blankets from the hotel upon request, which helped, so I'd recommend doing that from the get-go so you don't have a sleepless first night.
All that said, the inconveniences were minimal and people were so friendly and helpful, they made our stay wonderful. I would definitely recommend anyone visiting Boquete to stay here. It's a bit out of town which provides a peaceful and beautiful surroundings for a relaxing retreat, which is perfect after a...
Read moreThis is a fab hotel in a stunning area just outside Boquete. We stayed two nights in the family room and a further two nights in side-by-side triple rooms. The former was just perfect for a family of 4 and the kids loved their bed space up a narrow spiral staircase. It was so special to watch the many hummingbirds and other beautiful birds that are regular visitors to the stunning garden setting of the inn. |The pool and jacuzzi are lovely after days our adventuring. |We also loved the breakfast here. It’s low key, but served with a smile from the lovely staff team and includes lots of delicious fresh fruit, cooked items, smoked salmon and bagels and more! You can help also yourself to some fizz or a Bloody Mary too! And all with that stunning view! Just perfect!|We would also like to add that the staff team were super friendly and helpful. |It’s easy to get into Boquete using local taxis (although when we were staying, the bridge on the fast route into town was being repaired so the journey took a bit longer), and we also found Palo Alto was en route to many of the attractions, so tour companies were happy to pick us up there rather than in town. |We highly...
Read moreThe hotel is located on the river with an amazing view! Breakfast was served daily from 8am to 10am, very good breakfast (best I have ever had at a hotel). The pool and hot tub overlooked the river, loved relaxing there.
My husband and I along with another couple stayed in the family suite. The best part of the room was the outdoor porch area, super spacious and incredible view. However, the room is outdated and should not be advertised to fit 4 adults. The upstairs ceiling is very low, the stairwell is narrow and small to get up there, and the beds are super small and not comfortable at all.
The couch downstairs had stains all over it and smelled, I put a sheet on top of it because it grossed me out to even sit on it. The rugs needed to be professionally cleaned and not just vacuumed, they were filthy. The bathroom was small and the door scratches the floor when you open it. There should also be a mat at the front door so you don’t track dirt and water when you walk inside.
Pros: view, breakfast, and pool/hot tub Cons:...
