Gorgeous area and hotel itself. We stayed in a king room with a terrace upstairs. Hotel is located between residential houses and your peace depends on neighbors. Our room is the farthest and next to a family with two dogs. One of them barked all the time he was on a leash on a patio so our the most expensive and most beautiful room could not be enjoyed all the time. I know there was nothing they could do unless dogs barks at night. Hotel had all amenities like nice bath towels and soap. No tissue provided though. Also room had a kitchenette but no towel provided to wipe down spilled coffee or water. Breakfast was good although the server could just show the menu instead of trying to tell us what's in it as we don't speak Spanish ( male manager one morning gave us that menu and it was very easy to choose) The day of our excursion we came 15 min early and a server pointed at clock, suggesting we were too early, well, the day before Panamanian guy finished his food when we came at 8, and it wasn't a big deal apparently. Also would be nice if there would be more staff for cleaning after mass check out, we were there before everyone else and our room got finished last. Overall...
Read moreWhile a bit out of the way from the Main Street of boquete, this is an amazing place to stay and relax. You’re surrounded by a beautiful garden as soon as you walk in, it makes the air quite fresh.
What I was most impressed with was the staff and the owner. Rebecca helped us out with so many different things, from calling taxis to helping us plan out what to do during our stay to packing us breakfast for our hiking day to arranging transportation to the airport in David. She was always super helpful and friendly, we’re really glad to have her help. Tom, the owner is super friendly as well. We were talking about our day at the bar with Rebecca and a few other guests when last call hit. He asked us what our plans were for the night. We mentioned we wanted to go to the Main Street for dinner and asked Rebecca to call a taxi for us. He then offered to drive us instead and when we got to the restaurant, he walked in with us and got us a round of drinks (Boquete Garden Inn gives out drink coupons for the restaurant but we forgot to bring them).
One thing to note is that the walls are not great at blocking out the noise. So if you are a light sleeper you may want to try to request an...
Read moreThe Flowers, the Birds: this is why you came to Panama||This is a delightfully created small resort beside the river and mercifully out of the main (crowded, busy) strip. While I was there, I happened to meet the owner/ designer. I complimented him on such a delightful garden with the rooms dispersed down winding trails filled with bird song and flowers. The rooms themselves, (each with a terrace and comfortable wicker chairs) are gorgeous with clean bathrooms but it is the environment, the welcoming staff and the warmth of everyone from the breakfast (included and excellent) server to the room maids, bar staff and reception that will fill your heart after so many cold hotel receptions where one gets the feeling one is just a credit card number. Perhaps the most memorable aspect is. The breakfast with the freshest fruit, eggs, toast etc, eaten on the terrace. As the birds descend on the fruit skins the staff leave out for them. The owner claims you can see most species (except the quetzal) right here at the feeders. I believe him!! I counted 8 species one morning. This resort truly embodies all I expect...
