My wife, two sons and I stayed here in one of the family rooms for two nights recently. We are seasoned travellers and have spent a lot of time in Peru (My wife is Peruvian) in hotels of all levels in many different cities, towns and therefore believe our expectations were not unreasonable for the rating and prices that this hotel charges. The Hotel has definitely seen better days; Walls and floors are dirty throughout including in the dining area. Where to start with our room? hair strands (including pubic hair ) all over the beds when we first entered. A 2cm gap around the (noisy) air-conditioning unit which let mosquitoes freely enter the room, leaking roof when it rained and just generally very dirty throughout. Staff at best were inattentive and dismissive- the lady at the front desk however was just plain rude. She called our room 15mins before check out to see if we were leaving the room. After letting her know that we were on our way and that we would be down in 15 mins, she continued to call the room every 2 mins asking us where we were. (This also after waiting over 90 mins for our room on check in.) There are systematic problems with this hotel from general cleaning, maintenance, guest relations, staff training which comes down to poor general management. Other hotels we have stayed at in Peru and around the world with less facilities have been a 1000 times better. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone until there is a change...
Read moreI stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and was really disappointed. Firstly it looks no where near as nice as the pictures make it out to be. Secondly the breakfast is the worst breakfast I ate in my entire 6 weeks of traveling around South America. Thirdly and most importantly they just don't care. Service is TERRIBLE. Guy was meant to bring me up towels and I waited half an hour when I came down and he was on his cell phone relaxing! There was no phone in my room so they said they would get me one from another empty room and again I waited for a long time - no one came so I went downstairs and the other guy from reception went to another room and disconnected the phone and gave it to me. My room also didn't have any kind of lamp just the main light on the ceiling. |The hotel is also not that centrally located to the main...
Read moreWe had a nice and airy room on the top floor. It had a big window with a view over the town. The view wasn't exactly beautiful (metal sheets on the roofs, grayish houses, etc.) but it was interesting. The bathroom was nice and clean. Everyday room service when you leave the keys at the reception. Everything was cleaned well and there was always enough toilet paper. The hotel offers laundry service, which can come handy in this climate. Receptionists spoke English (not always the rule in Peru) and were kind and helpful. We didn't try the swimming pool but the area around it was very nice and calm. You can have a drink there and relax. The hotel restaurant had great food and the staff were really nice. Not all of them spoke English but they tried hard to understand our Spanish and we always managed to order...
