Decided to get to know the “selva Baja” de Peru. I’ve been to Tarapoto and it was lovely. Decided to go with my mom and I booked the tour with Tony. He picked us up from the airport and took us to a very nice hotel in Iquitos. The tour was 3N4D. Since we arrived early he took us out to eat breakfast. Honestly was not expecting to be taken to mercado to go eat, me and my mom were a little concerned about getting sick. The food was basic, not a variety to order. I guess they are not big in breakfast. Then we did a city tour got to see some good places and ate some delicious food such as fish, suri and crocodile. Even though lunch was part of the tour package (The place we ate at was not included ) which we didn’t mind because it wasn’t much. Amazon trip was amazing. My mom was scared because she gets motion sickness but the trip was very smooth. The lady “Esther” and the kid were so good to me and mom. She is an amazing cook, delicious food . The driver was so nice and very helpful. Tony showed so many things. Monkeys, pink and gray dolphins, piranhas, sloths and multiple birds. We got to see the big tree and the walking tree. The only downside was the cabin/ lodge we stayed at we were the only tourist and the rooms had no doors just a curtain. And than the guy that takes care of the lodge or cabin also lives there. So we were a little scared. Also the trip from Iquitos to get the boat zone was very bumpy and not comfortable at all. I would recommend them more for a big group of young people. But there is a lot to see....
Read moreThis was an excellent tour of the Amazon. Did 5d4n with 3n camping. I was picked up from the airport in iquitos and dropped at my hostel the day before the tour begin as well. Communication was fast and helpful always. Raul my guide on the tour was very experienced and together we saw lots of animals, including monkeys, otter, dolphins, sloth, snakes and more. Camping was a great way to experience the jungle in a more deep way as well. Would recommend Vanayacu expeditions to anybody, as they went out their way to make my trip special and were better priced than some...
