We stayed here for one night while visiting Chavin. It is okay but very overpriced for what it is. We paid 70 soles for a double room, and if you wanted breakfast it was 90 soles. It's really not worth this money - certainly don't bother with breakfast as you can get it for much cheaper nearby. The room was a little dirty, with dust in the toilet and basin. Bed was very sunken in the middle so uncomfortable. Shower was hot but low power. They lock the place really early - try to get back before 10 pm. The walls are thin and we were kept awake at night by people knocking loudly and ringing the bell persistently to try and get in! It would be sensible to give guests an outside key. The staff seemed grumpy to start with but I think this was just their manner - they were helpful enough. There's a nice garden and several cats. I wouldn't really recommend this place but there aren't many other options - La Casona next...
Read moreFirst thing to remember is your in the middle of no where. So drop your idea of what hotels are in the states. This hotel was more than adequate for the nights stay. It's in the middle of the town square. The grounds of of hotel have lots of beautiful trees and flower. The rooms are nothing fancy, but where find for a over nights stay. Twin beds with old flat pillows. I used my jacket for my pillow instead. The bath room is a basic a toliet and a very small shower stall. Nothing fancy!!! The people were very nice and helpful. It's within walking distance to the ruins. The owners where very accommodating...

But the staff are AMAZING, the location is great and the price is reasonable. My reason for not giving five stars: there is quite a bit of noise from dogs and cats in the garden. This is a problem everywhere in Peru, but I think this dog is owned by the hotel so really they should find a solution for this. Nobody went outside to try and resolve...
