We liked this hotel and returned there on the way back from Mancora. They looked after our luggage and there was no problem. The family running this place is very kind and helpful.||It only cost about $30 per night and our golden rule is if local business types stay there it is a good sign. I forget the older gentleman's name but he was extremely helpful and was genuinely concerned for our welfare. His grandson was on the desk and he was very pleasant to us and very welcoming. Like with most Peruanos one feels like great friends very quickly. They take your washing to the laundry for you and you only have to pay local laundry prices not hotel prices. Very nice of them I thought. Just remember they need the money to pay the laundry before you get the clothes. But their willingness to take care of it typifies this hotel. Remember to ask advice about where to eat. They referred us to a fantastic Chinese restaurant. They also organized a trip to the Sipan site and other museums. Kristian the cleaner kept the rooms very clean and when he saw that I was reading Ulysses by James Joyce (a very difficult book), mentioned that it is about one day in Dublin! Amazing! That was a surprise and an experience in itself. Value for money and exceedingly kind family and staff are the two things that stood out. Well worth a mere $30 per night. My rating was based largely on the helpfulness of the staff, its cleanliness and the value for money. Remember it...
Read moreWe stayed here for two nights. Although it's slightly out of the centre it's easily walkable (10-15 mins to the main square) and we found this walk safe day and night - it's along a busy road with lots of people around. Room and private bathroom were clean, and the room was cleaned and the bed made every day. It was nice and quiet at night and we slept well. Wifi was excellent. The shower was good. However, the bed had a weird plasticky mattress, the sheets were very old and thin and kept coming off the mattress, and the pillows were very small and old. ||Staff were good and bad! They arranged a taxi to pick us up from the bus terminal at 5am, which was very helpful. They also let us check in very early, but we had to pay an extra half day for this. We found their local knowledge a little lacking - they didn't know when museums were open, or which bus companies to use, etc. We wanted to visit the original Sipan site (not just the museum in Lambayeque) but they had no idea whatsoever about this! ||Overall it's fine, and there don't seem to be many good options in Chiclayo. However, considering breakfast is not included, I think it's a bit overpriced for...
Read moreDuring my stay I had no major issues, this was the hotel that was close by and very affordable.||Rooms are small, Dom lit and mostly clean, sheets and towels were clean as well as the bathroom.||There is no closet, only a few wire hangers and a wood shelf that in my case had some plastic shavings and the room had a slight cigarette smoke smell.||Only a small bar of soap is in the bathroom and there is no place to place your items as only two small glass shelves is all the area offered, since the bathroom is small I suppose there were not a lot of options. Staff is friendly and helpful.||It appears that it is being updated but a lot more is needed.||This place is ok in case of an emergency but I don't think I would stay there for more...
