Even after confirming my transfer by email twice and receiving a response from the hotel both times, there was no driver at the airport when I arrived at 1045pm. || I called twice, both times they told me to wait only five more minutes, the driver didn't show after an hour. It was midnight, against my better judgement but not having other options, I took the green company airport cab. He ended up driving me in circles for half an hour through bad neighborhoods past open fires in streets that looked like war zones trying to get me to stay at his hotel bc Laurent's is supposedly in a bad area. I eventually agreed just to get out of the cab.||While my review might seem unfair because I never actually saw the hotel, they put me in an incredibly unsafe position last night due to their unreliable airport pick up service. I am incredibly disappointed. Do yourself a favor, especially if you are traveling at night or by yourself and pay the extra money for a big chain hotel. It seems like a waste due to the fact I was taking another flight early the next morning but trust me, it is worth it . I have traveled all over the world solo and have never felt as unsafe as last night. Do not rely on this hotel for a safe...
Read moreBooked this hotel because of its location to LIM airport and our early am flights within 36 hours.. Our transfer didn't show so one of the cabbies at the airport was trying to get us to go to a hotel of his liking in Miraflores. The information booth at the airport was helpful in getting me in touch with the hotel. The driver, after much effort on his part to change on minds, even saying the hotel was 45 minutes away, finally capitulated and took us to Laurents. The hotel is indeed only 15 - 20 minutes from LIM. It is clean, comfortable and a reasonable price. I wouldn't walk the neighborhood at 1 a.m but, we walked to a local restaurant at night and enjoyed the local barrio environs; couples, kids, families.....a pretty park down the street where some young rap singers were performing. A neighborhood in the midst of regeneration. P.S. the hotel has a restaurant on the top floor which we visited but the best Roasted Chicken restaurant is Roky's just 2 blocks or so down the street. The staff at the hotel didn't speak much English but it was better than our Spanish. Would recommend for a short stay with...
Read moreWe booked this hotel since it said it was close to the airport. Not so. Its Los Olivos, an area of town with such a bad reputation that people recommended against us going there. The area wasn't the best for sure and the taxi from the airport didn't even know how to get there since so few tourists ever go there. We had a brief overnight in Lima and needed to get rest, so I asked the dismissive/depressed night receptionist for a room on the interior. She said it was. When we got up to the room, it was facing the street. The street noise was bad, but not as bad as the service elevator that our room was next to. The hallways are like echo chambers, too, with every step or tiny noise amplifying throughout the floor. Needless to say, we didn't sleep much, which made things worse. The room was just fine, but if you can't sleep and its not close to the airport or near anywhere with anything to see or do, there is absolutely no reason to go to Los Olivos or to stay at this hotel, especially given the terrible...
