Chicama Hostal — Hotel in Rázuri

My partner and I stayed at El Hombre for just over a week during our travels in South America. For anyone hoping to surf Chicama this is the best budget option. The hostel has the best location in town, great views of the point and a good vibe - it's also the safest place to stay in terms of security for your stuff. Doris, the lady that runs the place, is super friendly and helpful, although you will have to communicate in Spanish. Rooms are clean but basic - the price is 20 soles per person, so being in a couple it meant we could take a double room with a tv for 40 soles. There are also fancier rooms/apartments on the top floor with hot water and private bathrooms for a little extra. If you're heading to Chicama alongside a good swell I would recommend turning up a day or two early, or calling ahead to make a reservation as the place will fill up quickly when it's good. Since 2002 I have travelled to Chicama for the surf.||My last trip prior to this one was 11 years ago, I was keen to see how El Hombres Hostal had faired in that time.||Doris the matriarch of the family was the same as always, always willing to help and assist with any requirements, she is the ' mother' to everyone staying there.||The hostal has undergone extensions with updated accomodation, but this has not diminished the great ambience of the place.||||I would never stay anywhere else, and suggest to fellow travellers to try El Hombres, you will not be disappointed , this is the surfers hostal.||Clean,cheap and cheerful.||||Was great to see El Hombre himself still reading his daily paper as always.||||Un abrazo ( a hug ) to Doris, El Hombre and...

................Estuve alojado 3 días en el hostal las fechas que se celebro el campeonato nacional de Surf que se da en semana santa (Mes de Abril 2014) ... por unos 10 dolares tuve el privilegio de alojarme en un dormitorio con vista a la playa,......... la ubicación del hostal es espectacular,,,, debido a que esta en la parte mas alta de un acantilado de arena de unos 60 metros sobre el nivel del mar... lugar desde donde se aprecia tooooodo el oceano y sus olas de mas de un kilometro de longitud.... .........el hostal esta alejado del pueblo lo que le da tranquilidad para descansar fuera del ruido del trafico de las mototaxis y el bullicio de la gente. ..... ahora bien la cercanía al point (mejor zona para los surfistas) hace de este lugar inmejorable..... ||||....en mi estadía me levantaba cada mañana a ver el amanecer desde los acantilados que se encuentran mas altos que el hostal y les aseguro que ver salir el sol por la cadena de montañas (andes) es un espectaculo para los amantes de la naturaleza......||||....el unico problema son los insectos... frente al hostal hay un arbol de guarango que trae muchas arañas que no deja disfrutar de la banca que se encuentra debajo de sus ramas, por lo tanto es necesario fumigarla...
