Unfortunately I have to disagree with all the raving reviews. Could also be circumstantial. My friend and I got the dorm right behind the reception, linked with windows to outside. One roommate, who was a volunteer Mural painter, decided to blast music all night long "because she had to finish three murals on the roof", making her poor time management the problem of the whole hostel. Several people complained when the music got turned up at 06.15am, the guy at the front desk didn't want to intervene. While I'm typing this the music is still playing at 08.03am. My top bunk is directly under a window linked to outside, also the washing area. Stray dogs have kept me up all night. At around 07.00am the reception started to get rural, which is also very loud in our room. No hot shower in the morning. There's only very bright lights in the room so being respectful to resting roommates is difficult. The only plus side I can think of is the view on the roof, if our roommate wasn't there blasting her music we would have definitely enjoyed...
Read moreAfter we spent 2 weeks in the jungle without much comfort we decided to stay in a nice hostel. And this hostel is great. First is really clean, the people who works there are really nice and welcoming, they also speak English really good. The kitchen is really good organized, u can find everything in the right place, and is really clean, also free coffee, Tea, sugar, salt, oil, rice all the basics foods u can find it for free. There is also a spacious terrace where u can find the laundry room (hand wash, free soap), hammock, table and chairs to enjoy. There is also a TV room. There is everything u need! And they also accept volunteers! The only problem we had was with the shower, we paid for a double room with hot water 24h but apparently was broken, so we had to go upstairs which if u pay a private room with a private toilet is not really the best, that's why 4 stars. They also provide free...
Read moreMe and my partner stayed here for nearly 3 weeks while taking Spanish lessons in the town and an extra week after he broke his ankle 🥲 it was a lovely place to call home during the beginning of our trip in Peru, the staff were so kind and changed our room so a bigger bottom floor room when my partner was using crutches! They were really helpful when we were asking questions about what to do in tarapoto and helping us get motor taxis, the hostel is cosy and in a safe and quiet location, it’s a small walk or a cheap motor taxi ride from town but very accessible and I recommend it a lot if you’re staying in the area! They have a kitchen for guests and a BEAUTIFUL roof terrace with lovely views and undercover which is amazing when it rains too. I highly recommend! Thank you...
