Hotel Cielo — Hotel in Tarapoto

Well I wasn't too excited about this hotel at first. However, I have since stayed in another hotel in Tarapoto, and was totally disappointed. So, I suppose I owe hotel Cielo a review. Shuttle service was on time and waiting at the airport when we arrived. They were also available a few times when we needed a ride to the airport for business. They are very friendly and accommodating at the front desk, especially since they kept my beer cold in the fridge behind the desk. The main building is located behind the street, separating you from the street noise a little. This was not an issue as my A/C unit was loud enough to drown out all other ambient noise!! The room was clean, plently of water pressure and hot water, an average bed, functional desk, and good wifi speed. Breakfast was acceptable, but the coffee sucked. I did enjoy the pool area, as it was a nice oasis at the end of a working day to relax with a Cerveza. The hotel enjoys a good location, a short 3 minute walk to the main square, 2 min from a grocery store, and 1 min from a laundry. Really can't go wrong here. We arrived at 22:00 hrs at the aiport in Tarapoto, the minivan was waiting for us, the driver was very friendly and gave us a quick tour of the city. The staff at Cielo´s hotel greeted us at the door and helped with our suitcases, the rooms had 3 individual beds, clean, nice bathroom. The pool was a welcome service as the weather was very hot (February) , breakfast in the morning (0700-1000 am) included local fruits, fresh juices, coffee, tea, hot baked bread and a choice of omelette, rice, or eggs. The staff were friendly and responded to any queries promptly and efficiently. The hotel is located at 2 blocks from the plaza, banks, craft market and restaurants. Un accueil chaleureux et une belle parenthèse, même pour quelques heures

Après une mauvaise expérience dans un autre établissement, nous avons trouvé refuge à l’hôtel Cielo en attendant notre vol du soir. Et même si notre passage fut court, l’expérience a été plus que positive.

L’accueil a été chaleureux, professionnel et bienveillant. Le personnel a été très compréhensif face à notre situation, ce qui a tout de suite mis fin au stress de la journée. On s’est sentis bien accueillis et respectés, malgré le fait que nous ne restions que quelques heures.

La chambre était propre, confortable et agréable, parfaitement adaptée pour se reposer et reprendre ses esprits. L’environnement de l’hôtel est particulièrement plaisant : les espaces communs sont joliment décorés, et la piscine intérieure avec sa grande fresque murale colorée apporte une vraie touche artistique et apaisante (comme en témoignent les photos).

Même dans un temps limité, on sent que cet hôtel est géré avec soin et souci du détail. Le service est attentionné, et l’emplacement central est idéal pour une escale à Tarapoto.
