i GAVE THE OVERALL RATING A 2 STAR FOR GOOD REASON...One is, I have stayed here, many time, for long periods of time...I got know the guests, the good ones, know all of the staff, and when my wife and I first stayed there, in June of 2014, yahoo, what a wonderful place...Clean and competent employees, super clean rooms, low rates, and was just a fun place to stay..Fun meaning, it has two pools, one for kids, and for adults, it is very tropical looking, place...Rooms were super clean, service was exceptional, since I noticed right away, the owners were in the wrong business...No one was trained, correctly, no one had a qualified leader, but the staff still did a great job....Now, 2015, not so good...Most of the same staff, but now there are prostitutes running all over the place, especially on certain weekends, because they promote sex tours there for golf and sex, yes, they are sex tours and the girls are low class...Covered in Tattoos, smoking, and just no class....Girls were standing on tables, showing themselves, dressed of course, but showing their bodies to be chosen...Seems as if they bring in like 15 girls, but only 8 to 12, depends on occupancy....Sometimes my wife and I, even in front of our kids, could hear the girls say, " I hope I get chosen, so I not have to go home.." Some weekends, music was blasting, girls, running around with married men, dressed like yuck, if you know what I mean and what is sad about this is, the staff knows this is going on, they get yelled at by the good guests, and the staff now has gone from being 4 start hard workers, to 1 star hard workers, because they just do not have the spirit to try hard....They are depressed, forced to work 12 hour shifts, 6 and 7 days a week, low wages, paid in cash, so no taxes are paid, so these employees will not have anything paid into social security...The food was excellent, especially filipino food, just the best, now not so good...Because the type of guests who visit there, love salty food, the food is salty, restaurant is full of flies, and if you are the wrong race, you will walk into a hot and sticky restaurant..If you are of the right race, you will walk into a nice cool restaurant....My wife and I are glad we found a house down the street, and are able to live in a quiet, family environment...This place is great for families, as long as the prostitutes are not there, who are to a child's eyes, very much women of the night...Very low class girls...The girls have no dignity, self respect, or class, and make all filipinas look cheap and it...
Read moreFor those that have not read my reviews: I am not a high class traveler. I have my standards and I rate against that, not a 5 star hotel in Makati. So I look for, Hot showers, cold AC, free wifi, preferably in room, good clean restroom with working toilet, and a comfortable bed. No insects homesteading my room. All at a reasonable price, usually under 2000 php per night. If high end tourist area, maybe 2500 php.||So on to my review. I found the front desk staff very friendly. since I was in a hurry to get out of the previous horrible hotel (Qubo Qabana), I checked in early. I had made the reservation a couple days before. They apologized for my room not being ready, which I could understand since it was 10:30am. But they grabbed my bags and took me to another room to put my stuff and to use until my room was ready. Above and beyond in my book. They brought an ice cold bottle of water to me and said they would hurry with my room. 30 minutes they came for me and again grabbed all 3 of my bags and took me and them to my room. It was clean, good size with a clean restroom with a well working toilet. Also good water pressure in shower and very hot water. I'm feeling very good about the hotel and my room. Good wifi in the room also. As another reviewer mentioned there were many Korean golfers there. However, during the 4 days I stayed there, I did not notice any of the other things mentioned negatively like the loose women running around, or loud music, or any distractions what so ever. Maybe they corrected that problem. After all there is a "short time " hotel next door owned by the same owner I am told. So maybe he keeps the guests from that hotel out of this one. I found it well suited for my standards and will stay there any time I am in that area of...
Read morePROS: Staff is kind, helpful and works hard, but it grossly under paid...Food is wonderful large portions, tasty and well worth the price...The staff will do whatever you ask, just talk slow so they understand...I was lucky because I understood the issues there (LOW PAY) so I was well taken care of...Tipping helps..They are paid half the legal minimum wage for Luzon Island, so I encourage tipping, even for doing basic job...Has two pools one for kids...Very safe grounds, armed security 24/7...CONS: This is a 2 star resort, which could be a 4 star, easily, if the owners were not cheap and would just upgrade...The EXISTING resort area, which is in dire need of repair...They are expanding which makes no sense, since existing area is in need of repair..Also, very noisy place, people parting until midnight even until 4:00 am...I was there 10 days and only got 3 nights rest...Average room fee, for basic room is around 2500.00 php taxes included, and it is cash only, no credit cards...The correct room rate should be around 1600.00 to 1800.00 php...Also, you will find dining room warm, since air-con is off until you arrive to eat..Rules by owners...REMINDER.. Whatever is wrong with your stay, is not the fault of the staff, it is the owners...Be good to the staff and they will serve you well..Tell them King Kano...
