Horrible experience with this hotel. We thought we would take a risk of booking this new hotel, because the pictures looked good. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS US! Firstly, what you don't realise booking this hotel, is that it is located in the middle of nowhere. From the ferry we took a tricycle and halfway the driver stopped and told us to walk, because he couldn't take his tricycle there. When I said this is not even half way, he laughed at us, took our money and left us with our bags on the beach. That's about 15-20 minutes walk. Secondly, I asked the receptionist if we could get a tricycle to the town, since they have their own private tricycle and I was told that "Tricycles were not available in this area". That was a bit funny, because we saw other guests being transported back and forth. Later, we decided to do the famous El Nido tours and booked it through this hotel. They booked us an overcrowded boat with 20+ people with the crew and the guide who were drunk, drinking throughout the trip and selling drinks on the boat. So, if you don't want to be stuck with a bunch of drunk people on a boat for a whole day, I'd suggest to book another company. These trips are a total scam. They quote you 1200, but then you have to pay other fees and rent snorkel, kayak and eventually it will cost closer to 2500. As a side note, Philippines is THE DEFINITION OF TOURIST TRAP. Don't be seduced by beautiful drone shots or you will pay they price of spending your money for overpriced sh***y food and accommodation. During our 6 day stay, they did not manage to clean our room EVEN ONCE, despite my girlfriend verbally asking the receptionist at least on two separate occasions. At the end of the our stay their excuse was that we didn't put a sign on the door. THERE WAS NO SIGN AVAILABLE IN OUR ROOM. I attached a pic of the bedding. If you're looking at it confused, thinking why are there two identical bed sheets on the bed, your puzzlement is forgiven. According to this hotel, the second bed sheet, should function as a blanket and if you have a great imagination and can imagine that, you won't be cold. The hotel is advertised as having WiFi. However, if you want to use WIFi, the only place it's available is on the ground floor in the lobby. And if you're thinking, well, maybe this is some sh***y hostel this man is describing and he just likes to complain, well, we paid no less and no more than $75/night EDIT: Since I received that wonderful reply, let me just reiterate how full of lies it is: 1. The crew on the boat was DRINKING AND SELLING alcohol. The guide was ABSOLUTELY DRUNK and you could not have contacted any of the other people, because none of them were from your hotel. Drinking coffee my a*s 2. You don't give a f**k about people's privacy. On Christmas morning some guys started CONSTRUCTION WORK right outside our room. 3. My girlfriend speaks English just fine and she asked your staff(who speak very limited English) in my presence, to clean our room at least on two separate occasions to which we received a reply, and I quote: "Later, later"

Clean fairly new mid-range hotel located in quiet path/ part dirt road off the beaten track steps from Caalan Beach., in a local small community village vibe. It’s about 20 min walk from el Nido town proper, via a narrow beach path that get higher tide in the evenings. The beauty is that it is quiet and peaceful as it’s set back into the jungle. The owner Lizza is lovely and accommodating to book airport transfers etc. she was very communicable and available via whatsapp. The rooms and hot water shower bathroom are small, about 15 sq M total, with a tiny balcony with a couple seats and small washing line that can fit about 2 garments outside. The room has decent AC and Wi-Fi (as long as there isn’t a power cut, but there is a back up generator ). The area at the hotel has no phone reception , unless you go to the small roof deck at the top of the building via spiral stairs, where there are 2 sun Loungers and a lovely view. The communal dining area on the 3rd floor serves breakfast., and there is plenty of refillable drinking water. There is daily housekeeping available and a small desk and small wardrobe with hangers , and a safe in the room. We would have preferred more comfortable seats in the room, balcony and common dining areas., and option to have a fan would be nice In the room , to utilise the mosquito screen door and outdoor air in the evenings and early mornings when the air is fresh. Daily breakfast was provided, and we opted for the Filipino food, which was satisfying - accompanied by decent filter coffee and their very own farm grown bananas or yellow watermelons. The hotel wasn’t very busy when we stayed late Nov/early December - we wondered if the pricing wasn’t as competitive for more in comparison to the other hotels. We felt the room was small for 2 people, especially for longer stays (we stayed 5 nights).

Very happy with our stay at Layang Layang. The owner was soooo kind and helpful, with booking tours and transfers. She was also just genuinely so kind and welcoming! We even extended our stay by 2 nights because we liked it so much. The hotel itself is nice, clean, and bright. It’s extremely well kept although the rooms are a bit on the smaller side, they work fine for 2 people. The room we had had a double bed and balcony and very powerful AC. Wifi worked well in the rooms. I was even able to get an extra heavier blanket which was super comfy. The location is about 15 minute walk from el nido town, which is nice because it’s quieter yet still easily accessible (except if the tide gets high at night - still accessible but have to walk through the beach when the waves come in at night time). They also help transport you during check in and check out back to the town Center with all your bags which is a huge help!! They have some motorbikes for rent at the hotel for 400pp a day so we rented one to take to the beaches. Breakfast was included in our stay and we just had to inform the staff the night before which breakfast we choose. There are numerous options and they were very tasty. Coffee and tea is also available every morning. The breakfast place is situated in a corner of the building with really pretty views. Overall I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a nice, relaxing and quiet stay that is within budget! They also have two cute little dogs named Copper and Moira which might greet you at the gate ☺️
