We didn't stay at this hotel but our driver took us here on the morning we were swimming with whale sharks (we were walking to the main Whale Shark Centre which is just 100yards up the road, but one of the tour guides from Aaron's resort spoke to our driver and told us we had to book our tour from here). ||||That was a huge lie and I'm gutted we got sucked in to this trap. We had to pay 100peso entrance fee per person, on top of the official 1000peso price to snorkel with the whale sharks. ||||The hotel send guides to queue on your behalf and then drive you to the centre when it's almost your time. However, they only send a guide to queue once they have a big enough batch of people (approx 20 per batch). So unbeknown to us, a guide hadn't got into the queue until about 30mins after we first arrived. This meant hundreds of other tourists had joined the official queue in the meantime and we had to wait over 6 hours for our slot. We arrived at 05:20 and would have got our slot MUCH earlier if we hadn't fallen into the trap at Aaron's resort. ||||Throughout our 6hour wait the staff from Aaron's resort were not able to give us any information regarding how much longer we would have to wait. Our group didn't even get assigned a number until 10mins before our turn. ||||We were left to wait in the baking sun for hours. The toilets available were from with broken toilet seats and no toilet paper. There was an overpriced cafe on sight, and they charged for use of their WiFi. ||||So my advice to anyone visiting Oslob to go on a whaleshark tour is to go to the main dive centre as early as possible (pre 05:30) and get into the...
Read moreWe stayed at Aaron Beach Resort as it is very close to the whale shark swimming area.||Additionally the resort is right on the water with its own small, private beach. There are huts and hammocks that you can laze around in during the day. |The room was tidy and had the most comfortable beds that we’ve slept on our entire trip. The rooms had their own private bathrooms with hot showers that worked well.||The next morning we woke up at 5:45 and were taken in the back of utes to the whale shark check in (250m down the road) where we waited while our guide bought us tickets. This process was super easy and saved us the hassle of doing it ourselves. |The whale sharks was a great experience, they are being hand fed though so it isn’t like seeing them in the wild, but nonetheless it was still an amazing sight.|They also organised at trip to Sumilon island for us at a reasonable price too. |They made everything super simple for us and all for a good price.||Later that day, after checkout, we visited Tumalog falls. Aaron Beach Resort were more then happy to store our bags for us, they even had lockers that we could use for free while we went. We could even use the showers and change rooms once we came back.||Travellers keep in mind that there was no WIFI in the rooms, nor a kitchen, so you have to eat out.||Overall our experience was great and would definitely stay again next time we...
Read moreI want to give a big thanks to the cab driver I met in Cebu City for recommending Aaron Beach Resort. We decided to stay there, and luckily, we managed to get a room despite just walking in—normally, the rooms are fully booked. The resort is incredibly close to the Whale Shark watching area, which was super convenient!
What truly impressed me was the hospitality and care from the entire team. They made our stay feel so homely and special. The view from the resort is stunning, and the price is unbeatable for the quality you get.
Special thanks to Ate Elise, Kuya, and Yokz, who not only made our stay memorable but also assisted us with our next stop in Moalboal. They arranged a great deal for a private drive to Kawasan Falls (which is not a part of their service, but they were kind enough to offer us help when we requested !!!) and connected us with the best Canyoneering guides.
For future travelers, I recommend bringing some lite snacks and instant noodles for late-night munching, as most places in Oslob close a bit early. And for those of us who need to work even while on a trip (like me), Aaron Beach Resort...
