OYO 449 Sunrise 888 — Hotel in Oslob

It's close to the whale shark but then again, many accommodation options are. So the location is not that special.

The walls are paper thin so you could hear whatever the guests from the other room are saying and doing. The chinese couple next to us seemed to be banging every available thing in their room and seemed to be going out of their way to make noises in the middle of the night!

The store downstairs plays music at 5-freaking-am. Loud music! And the staff seem surprised when I asked them to turn it down so we could sleep.

Actual conversation between me and a staff: Me: Could you please turn the music down, it's 5 am. We're trying to sleep. Guy: Are you going to see the whale shark today?

Seriously.

No one seems to know what the wifi password is and then when we eventually got the password, the wifi doesn't really work.

The toilets are not clean.

Don't stay here if you...

I can recommend this place to tavellers who prefer cheap-cost. But if you are tavelling for quality hotel, then this is not a good choice. Although, the good thing of this hotel is few steps away from the Whaleshark viewing spot, an ATM, and convenience store; I still feel devastated because of the poor service by this hotel. We did not get the toiletries even if we ask them already (we stayed for 3 days), it has 1 channel on the TV, the bed has squeaky sounds, the toilet is not flushing and the smell of the room is unpleasant (maybe the paint on the wall or the previous guests accomodated the room). On the other hand, the hot/cold shower is working and the AC (Air conditioner) is functioning good! Have a good stay...

We ate breakfast here due to our Tour to Sumilon Island

First, staff will shove their menu to your face. We got caught off guard and ordered. 175 each: Silog meals (Sinaing at itlog) and coffee. They don’t have Porkchop meal, they didn’t even told us. They just decided to give us a different meal without asking, like who does that? Lol.

Area was dusty. They didn’t even bother cleaning it up before asking us to go upstairs.

Also, we were supposed to watch as the sun rises here. But there are branches of trees that blocks the view :( so sad that this does not live up to tourists’...
