Amarela Resort is so serene. My family stayed here last June 5-7, 2018. It has peaceful gardens and beautifully designed rooms crafted with unique details with a touch of classy Filipiniana. The view from our room's balcony is really awesome. It's a perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature's beauty at its finest. The pool is nice but not that big just to manage expectation, but we have it almost to ourselves so it's a big plus. Amarela has its own beautiful beach, with white, powdery sands. We saw plenty of little crabs. You can use the property's kayak for free (first come, first serve basis) if you want to have a little excitement. You can play beach volleyball or just relax on one of their hammocks and enjoy nature's beauty while listening to the sound of the waves in the background. We visited Alona beach but returned to Amarela immediately after realizing the latter's exclusivity is far better. Well, if party is your kind of thing, Alona beach is a place for you. But for me and my family, we really love almost everything in Amarela. My daughter enjoyed reading some of the books in the resort's library. There were also paintings and some antique collections to see. Foods are delicious though a bit pricely. It's just regretful that we have to leave after 2 nights. Our flight is scheduled early in the morning so we won't be able to avail the free buffet breakfast we get to enjoy the first morning. But they prepared packed breakfast for us and have it ready by 5 am, our time of leaving. Truly a remarkable service. The resort also offers free shuttle from and to Tagbilaran airport. It's genuine hospitality. All the staff we met here are really kind and attentive. Thank you Amarela for sealing our Bohol trip with an...
Read moreThe Department of Tourism rated Amarela resort as a 3 star hotel. It has a pool, a library and a garden. The beachfront is kept clean by the hardworking staff of the hotel. Panglao's beachfront is a long stretch of powdery white sand. It's nice to walk barefoot on the shore but wearing aqua shoes is recommended when swimming. There are sea urchins in the area. You would easily notice that Amarela's beach front is the cleanest among the rest and the most quiet. Nearby resorts have loud karaoke machines. Low tide happens at around 3pm. Sad to say that there were several plastic wrappers, bottles on the beach and seaweed. The staff of Amarela do their best in cleaning their area. I just hope that people would be more environment conscious. There are areas "infested" with seaweeds but you just have to walk a bit further to enjoy parts where there is less seaweed. I saw a lot of starfish near the shore. My dad and I enjoyed swimming as early as 530am. The water was calm and not that shallow.
The best part of our stay was the food in the hotel's restaurant. It was delicious and not pricey at all. Those who worked in the restaurant were attentive and accommodating.
It could have been better if frontdesk was more attentive in setting expectations. I thought we had issues in checking out but turned out that we were waiting on other guests before we board the free van to the airport. The frontdesk personnel could have been more proactive. He could also smile a bit more.
Overall, I loved our stay. Thank...
Read moreAmarela was everything we hoped for in a beach boutique hotel. It exuded a homey atmosphere, oozed old world charm, intimacy, peacefulness, comfort and cultural authenticity. The grounds are pretty and well maintained. Quite unique was the showcase of curated Bohol artwork from the owners in a gallery available for viewing. The staff were friendly but unobtrusive, and the service reliable. We had a wonderful experience during our five day stay. Each morning we had a lovely view of the sunrise on the Bohol sea courtesy of our wrap around balcony. The hotel’s beachfront location is certainly a plus with sufficient privacy accorded to guests sunning on the loungers. There is a public beach three or four properties down but that did not detract from the property. We really loved the artwork all over the hotel, the extensive book, video and parlor game library , including a collection of Philippine coffee table books on art, architecture, history, travel and culture. We admired the wood furniture and unique architectural salvages from old homes incorporated into their decor. Their food offering is varied, and not chefy. Breakfast options were delicious and generously portioned. The poeperty’s location is 2 miles or so to historic Baclayon Church and the must-visit Bohol Bee Farm. They are able to arrange trips all over Bohol, at your convenience. Overall, we were so pleased with Amarela Resort and were actually quite...
