Vedge Bohol - Vegan/Vegetarian Restaurant — Restaurant in Panglao

I used to give a nice review to this restaurant because I was really amazed by their food and service, especially the former chef with many tattoos. They used to have special menus every day that you would think weren’t vegan, but actually were, because they tasted like they had meat, but didn’t. That tattooed chef would explain to you what the special of the day was and what the ingredients were. He knew his craft very well.

I took a short vacation in Taiwan and then returned to the Philippines, and the place I really wanted to go back to was Panglao Island, especially Vedge Bohol, because I missed their food. But what surprised me was that when I entered the restaurant, it was eerily quiet, like Good Friday. When I asked the cashier where is Ralph, the server who took care of me before, she said he was gone. I then asked about the special of the day, but they had nothing to offer. They had a new menu, but I didn’t like it. , it felt soulless and lacked of love. I asked one of the staff where is the tattooed chef, and they said he had left as well, that he had gone AWOL. The service is not what it used to be, and I found out there’s a new management. owned by a Korean businessman, not the Italian guy anymore.

If you want to try vegan food in Panglao, I can no longer recommend Vedge Bohol, but you should try Vegan Shack or Lekker Garden. They’re still solid; I tried Lekker Garden for dinner and they were consistent, and for breakfast, Vegan Shack was still good. But Vedge Bohol, I’m sorry, but it’s...
