Not the best choice to do a simple staycation to relax when the service is just giving you stress. ||We checked in at 3pm but upon checking in, your Front Desk Clerks are not even smiling or even acknowledging your presence as guests by making eye contact. Their auras are too busy when there are only 2 of us in the check in counter. It’s not giving a welcoming atmosphere. Giving my benefit of the doubt that it is indeed busy, but the way they treat their guests was consistent even upon checking out. ||No quality personal touch to make an atmosphere to be hospitable despite that a hotel is part of the hospitality industry. ||When the keycard was given, no orientation or any touch of informing us about breakfast or even how to reach them incase we need assistance. ||Upon entering the room, it was fine for us to be placed to tower assuming that there is a phone to reach the front desk. Since it is a staycation, we prefer not to leave the room and just rest. Again assuming that there is an access to reach the front desk and room service given that there is a menu at the room, unfortunately the Phone does not work. It was but a display. No dial tone. So that means, I have to walk far to the restaurant to order food. ||At the restaurant, I initially told already the waiter that it’s for take out giving them information that we were checked in. Complaining that we thought there is room service. Given that info, the staff dis not even bother to give me an option that they can do room service. Doing the transaction for take out and paid my meals, i saw a waiter carrying a room service type of food. So I approached the counter telling, can my orders be turned to room service so i can go back to the room and just wait there. ||Too much alibis etc, i gave up. They did not bother looking into the comfort of their guests. Talk about service! ||When my order came, i requested if there can be disposable spoon and fork and plate, given again WE WERE CHECK IN Guests. Still to no avail! I had to buy one myself outside the premises.||The next morning, i saw how lousy your staffs are even during breakfast service. Despite that there are 3-4 waiters, they were just standing not even bothered to check if the buffet, the coffee or fruits are still available. Do they have to wait if the meals are empty before refilling it? The waiters and staff are just chitchatting. Imagine, their only concern is to check if everything is still good at the buffet and clean up tables for new guests, only one was concern to do that the one with eyeglasses, the rest, auras are not welcoming, lazy, and unwelcoming.||The hotel has been one of the go to in zamboanga, but the service is leading to its downfall. The reason I am giving my review this way because I am too a person from the hospitality industry. ||Sadly this is the kind of service we offer. Nakakahiya pong magdala ng bisita sa ganitong serbisyo.||We have been travelling a lot and the service of astoria is like an inn. Sad reality, a lot of Inns are better in service and customer care!||Never again a...
Read moreZamboanga City is one of the most horrid places I've been forced to go to. But the hotels had managed to make it even worse. The hotel is fairly lit (I'm currently staying on the property as I write this). The rooms are presentable but smelt of cockroaches. And indeed, I found three roaches on my 2nd night of stay. They gave us a matrimonial room but since it was facing the street, the sounds of the noisy 2 stroke motorcycle that they have as a transport, together with their local version jeepneys make sleeping during daytime a challenge. The bathrooms are now equipped with hot water but the sink in our room seems faulty as the drain is partially clogged. I had informed the reception but received a slow response. Perhaps because I wasn't wearing my Sunday's best when I went there. The location is considered "accessible" since it is located along the Pueblo area. The food is ok but not exceptional. There are no 24 hour convenience stores around but there's a dusty grocery shop open during day time across the very narrow street in front of the property. They have multiple function halls that seems to perpetually hold events since the locals considered this to be a high end hotel (note that the locals are "Gaga" about everything that would look fancy in a photo). They offer slow but "free" wifi connection which they control by limiting the usage of each customer to 8 hours per day only per device. They gave us 2 vouchers only per day in which we had to literally beg for each day since the receptionist is always reluctant to entertain and oblige requests from guests who isn't dressed in a casual attire. They have covered parking areas but it's almost always full. I had noted in my booking that I need parking space but I had to wait for the 2nd day to park my car since it's almost always full. The room maintenance isn't consistent as even though I had placed the tab outside our room, no one came to clean. I had to call the reception to ask for new sheets. Overall, The rates in my opinion are too high for what I'm experiencing. I could name a better hotel...
Read moreBeen reading some not so good comment on this hotel, but still giving it a try as most hotel are full that time. ||The side of hotel has a new extension under construction. ||During check in, I was given a small room, this is comparing the same amount paid in the same period of time but in a different hotel, I happen to have a friend who are staying in EverO. My room was incomparable with him. ||Not much of comment on the breakfast, not liking it as many people are like snatching food from the buffet, which i can only take what's leftover. LOL||I did not expect much from the breakfast though but my colleague was eating rice with egg alone as there are no other options. ||The room is indeed dusty, floor are sticky, and without complimentary water in the room but they gave you two glass. There's a TV mounted on the ceiling without remote control. ||The bathroom is with general toiletries like soap, toothbrush and shampoo which I only use the toothbrush set. Show was the best experience as the water does not go straight to you, pressure was low. The next day after room cleaning, they put two tiny bar of soap on my bed, it is unwrapped, is it really this cost savings? ||I am paying P2000.00 plus a night for this room. ||I thought I was biased until i saw my client who are staying in the same hotel and with the same comment, we both laugh. hahahaha...!!||There are better. ||Staff are helpful, at least some are. ||Forgot the lift, hahaha... i see people walking down from 8th...
