Hotel Mercure Białystok — Hotel in Białystok

We ordered a superior room with double bed via Booking. We also noted that we will need invoice. Upon check-in we were offered a standard room with two single beds and were asked to pay for it (the receptionist didn't even bother to check if we paid already or not prior to asking to pay). We had to repeat the request for invoice. Eventually, we were given the room we ordered, and everything would have been ok, but... around 8 p. m. our room was filled with bass from the music in the building. It appears, the hotel is hosting some kind of the party, it's 1 a. m. at the moment and we can't sleep. The party is still on full swing, the beat is strong enough that we could dance along, should we wish. And keep in mind, that the party is on the ground floor, and our room is on the fourth floor! We tried changing the room to a quieter one - alas. Not to sound winy, but I would expect a better sound proof installation from a 4 star hotel, not to mention that the receptionist must have informed us about the party and possible noise - we wouldn't have stayed. So overall, the hotel might be new, beautiful and good, but our impression and our rest are ruined. And yes, some minor details: e.g., 1 tea cup for two, crooked...

Stayed at this hotel before so it was tried and tested. Lovely decorated rooms with aircon, comfy bedding, excellent food and beer in the restaurant downstairs. Good value for money and convenient location. I had my only actual good coffee of this trip in Poland from the bar here. Most of the staff are excellent also however I feel like there were one or two working downstairs this time around who don't quite live up to the 4 star hotel service standard. It wasn't my personal experience, but a female waitress handled a complaint about food quite badly from another customer, saying something like "it's not my fault". During breakfast same thing - another customer asked for the automatic coffee machine tray to be emptied and one of the staff rolled her eyes and seemed to think he can do it himself even though there was nowhere to empty it in the customer area. She did it anyway but acted like it was an annoyance. Just left a bit of a bad impression witnessing these things, hence 4 stars...

Superb experience and would be back and thoroughly reccomend. Great size rooms, triple glazed windows, which contributes to a great sleep, it's clean and quiet. I was travelling alone on this occasion and booked single bed room,but was upgraded to double, which was a very welcome treat. Staff at reception is very helpful and polite. Fantastic bathroom, finish and design super comfy. Everything works fine in the room. Mattress was not too soft, very comfortable though. I could not find a fault. Maybe herbal tea selection could be better if I was trying to find something. As green tea at night is not a good idea, simply too much caffeine. If camomile or peppermint tea was in the selection I would had no complaints! That's a small thing that could me easily remedeed. There is a good restaurant downstairs which I haven't tried. But it...
