Hotel Beskid — Hotel in Nowy Sącz

The good points: |The bed was small but super comfy! We had an amazinge night’s sleep.|The decor was giving Soviet 1974 and we literally felt like we were in a spy film! It was so interesting. The breakfast was plentiful however it was mostly salad. I mean all types of salad. As a Brit to my shame, I was hoping for beans, bacon and sausage and eggs! My Polish Husband was in heaven. There were eggs and sausages but far more sophisticated than I expected. The pastries were fantastic and fresh fruits were amazing. Had a pool Husband used and he said it was nice. ||Not so good: the bathroom was a little tired and some black in the grout (my personal ick). The room felt very “basic” and nowhere near a 4 star. The staff weren’t particularly friendly or warm. I forgot my toothbrush and was directed to the nearby zabka. Usually hotels at least have the basics covered for guests. We booked this hotel based on the amenities listed on booking.com. The hotel has a gym, spa and swimming pool advertised, but it turned out that at weekends the gym does not open until 10am, and the pool, which we were told opens at 8am is pre-booked for private use from 8am until 10am. So for most of our stay, any plans for a pre-breakfast workout or swim were scuppered. With a small child, we would not have booked this hotel had we known about the limitations of use. ||Another sting in the tail was the announcement at check in that there was a £5 per day car parking fee, again.. nothing mentioned at point of booking. ||The hotel is advertised as a 4 star, it is barely a 3 star in real terms. The rooms are dated, room service was intermittent, no iron, no tea/coffee making facilities and very limited shelf space for toiletries in the sink area. ||Would...

We got married here on the 5th of October this year.||||From the beginning the organisation from management was perfect. Particularly Miss Katarzyna Gawron who was very patient and extremely helpful. ||||The food on the day was of a very high standard, and was enjoyed by all guests. Including many English that never had these dishes before as well as Polish who know how they should be. The staff worked very hard.
