Radisson Blu is a renowned brand, known for its high standards, cleanliness and accommodating staff. Unfortunately the experience at Radisson Blu Sopot does not meet the standards one is used to.
To start off with the positives, of which there are a few: The hotel comes across as clean and modern (the hotel is less than half a year old so this is to be expected) The mini bar prices are not extortionate Housekeeping staff are polite
Unfortunately our good experience with the above, I cannot give more than 1 stars due to the extremely severe issues during this unprecedented time (COVID-19):
There are two small, printed signs hidden in the lobby which state that masks are mandatory. Despite this great effort to keep the spread under control, only 1/10 guests are wearing face coverings in the common areas (lobby, hallways, lifts). During our 4-night stay I didn’t witness hotel staff enforcing the mask requirement a single time. When I gave this feedback to the reception staff, their reply was “it is not my job to tell guests to wear a mask”. If the receptionists, who see guests walking through the lobby throughout the whole day can not enforce the wearing of masks, whose job is it then? To add to this, staff were not consistently wearing masks either. One of the bartenders was working without a mask on and with a persistent, dry cough.
The general lack of control held by the staff is also reflected by the number of cars that are parked just outside the entrance of the hotel; obstructing entry for other guests whether arriving on foot or in a car. I get that you are proud of your car, however this is not the Bellagio and there simply isn’t space to park like that.
Lastly, upon arriving at the hotel there were no towels in our room. When we asked reception about this we were told that the laundry company had not delivered any towels on that day. After arriving at 17.00 after a 5 hour drive we had to wait several hours to receive towels so that we could have a shower. This exact same thing happened three days in a row. The worst part is that they would take our used towels away without replacing them, even when the used towels were hanging on the towel rail.
I appreciate that this review might come off as a rant, especially since I am complaining about (lack of) COVID restrictions while staying in a hotel during this difficult time. However, the reason we chose to stay at a more expensive hotel was to be sure that there would be enough space, hygiene and plans in place to have an as safe as possible stay.
An absolute appalling experience at “Radisson Blu” Sopot; something senior management and brand management representatives have to...
Read moreWhen we first went for Christmas in 2022, it was great. A quality children's program, quality cuisine and beverages, diligent, highly professional staff, stylish, large rooms, very comfortable, luxurious pool and saunas. Spacious, free parking, very close to the sea. 5*, every bit. We went back for a few days in the summer of 2023 and it was still good, but the parking had become expensive and there was a surcharge on using the pool for longer than an hour. They were probably capitalizing on the time of year, but it took the polish away from our previous experience. They misinformed me regarding their new pool policy, yet still expected payment, which in my opinion lacked integrity. That said, they did make a nice gesture of offering the next day's pool time completely free, which helped us feel a little less cheated. Unfortunately, the free pool time turned out to be a double edged sword. We were told that we couldn't take in an inflatable ball (in a children's pool), yet when we were inside many families had them. It didn't spoil the fun for our child, but the discrimination was disappointing for us. Although it wasn't a lot of extra money for the pool, the difference between about 5 and 15 Euros, it was the principle that mattered to us. It would have been nice if it could have been handled in good faith. However, that didn't seem important to the manager dealing with it. She seemed more concerned with 'grabbing' a little bit of extra cash rather than trying to understand the problem. Her lack of interest was evident when she didn't come to see us despite waiting a long time in the lobby. The service wasn't at the same standard as the last time we visited. Nevertheless, still a pleasant experience for children and for that reason, I would still recommend it, although we probably won't come back...
Read moreModern hotel outside of Sopot. Located a bit too far from everything, for it to be considered in a good location. Breakfast was good, as well as the rooms. Good modern standard, but nothing more. Great Spa Area. Staff was very kind. At least to my polish girlfriend. No communication with me, but nothing new in eastern europe. Housekeeping is a disaster. Maybe someone had their first day? Trashcan in the bathroom was open without any trashbag inside. The top of the bin lying next to it on the floor? Dirty mop in the basin. Mold in the shower. At the end there were about 10 towels in the bathroom. They kept bringing new ones and not removing the old ones?
We were there during Off-Season and we had to pay money in order to use the pool, sauna and jacuzzi. We even had some treatments in the Spa for good money. Still you have to pay a daily fee for the pool. Kinda stingy if you ask me. Espacially since it was off-season an the whole facility was basically empty… At the Check-out everything got kinda scammy. Apparently we drank a beer from the minibar. Bro… seriously? The last time I experienced something like this was in the 90s. Also they charge you for using the A/C in the room. It was turned on when we entered the room. Nowhere does it say anything about the A/C not being included? It is not about the money, it is about the feeling that you are getting scammed. Something I...
