In my opinion overrated and not recommandet for anyone and any stay! If you love it or you if you will be disappointed depends on what you are looking for.

Not generally bad, but there are some things you should be aware of before choosing Kali Vice: Hostel Amenities: Extremely light building material, lower building standard than other Hostels. You will hear any movement in the corredor and the rooms close to yours - at my stay it was however quite, as not all other rooms were occupied. Building has no ceiling board, therefore rooms get rather hot. It gives you indeed an outside and beach feeling - it might be exactly what you are searching for - or it may disappoint you - however it may be worse to be aware about it. No towels included - you have to pay extra. Limited bathroom capacity (4 showers, 2-3 toilets). Bathrooms not within the building, you have to get outside to the rear building.
Pictures posted here do not fully display the current state of the Hostel and rooms - not in the sense that the hostel or rooms would look different - but pictures used seem to be of the 'professional' kind, using photoshop to look bright and fancy. The reason why I was rather disappointed ...
Two huge - however very friendly - dogs in the Hostel, which go everywhere, even in the kitchen. In the kitchen one dog was huge enough to put the nose on the table in order to smell the food prepared - however not taking anything. In the morning a dog was drinking from the toilet. For my personal feeling this was definitly too much proximinity with the dogs.
Positive: very friendly and welcoming staff, gave me a tour through the hostel and explained everything. spacious communal outside space - roof top terrace - place for barbecue - tabletop football - a bar - which was closed at the time of my stay.
Overall - the cheapest place to stay in Costa da Caparica - community & beach feeling. Low hostel standard. Depending on what you are expecting or searching for - Kali Vice is your place - or - when expecting what other hostels offer - better to spend a little more and get a...

We recently booked Kali Surf Villa for a company offsite, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, the experience exceeded every expectation. The villa is absolutely stunning – beautifully designed, immaculately maintained, and perfectly set up for large groups. Every detail felt luxurious yet relaxed, creating an atmosphere that was both inspiring and comfortable.
One of the standout highlights was the incredible private chef experience. We were treated to a nine-course tasting menu, with each dish more exquisite than the last – and all thoughtfully paired with exceptional wines. It was a culinary journey that rivaled some of the best fine dining experiences we’ve had anywhere in the world. The chefs were not only talented but also warm, engaging, and passionate about their craft. This bespoke dining experience was truly unforgettable.
The villa itself had everything we could have hoped for and more. The pool was fantastic, and the amenities were top-tier – from spacious communal areas to tranquil private rooms, every corner of the property was designed for enjoyment and relaxation. Whether we were holding team discussions, lounging by the pool, or enjoying sunset drinks, the setting was nothing short of magical.
Kali Surf Villa is the perfect location for retreats, celebrations, or any gathering where you want a mix of luxury, privacy, and genuine hospitality. We’re already talking about coming back – it was that good.
If you’re considering this villa, don’t hesitate. It’s an extraordinary place that will leave you and your guests with...
Read moreKali Vice Hostel was our favourite place to stay in all of Portugal. The owners create an infectious energy, that clearly spreads to the rest of the staff and guests.
The hostel has everything you need, including an open roof top that we enjoyed using for yoga, meditation and time out to just chill. A fully equity kitchen, with 2 fridges so you can save money cooking for yourself. They do a weekly BBQ, we loved getting to meet all of the guests and spend time with some like minded people. The bar areas extends to 2 outdoor seating areas, 1 lounge area, and heaps of space for relaxing. The beds were super comfortable, and the linen was really soft and yummy.
The town itself is small, and has some touristic restaurants and many local restaurants that are delicious and cheap (our favourite Ali Grehba). Many grocery stores and alike close by. The beach is only a 5-10 minute walk, and there are around 26 beaches along this coast line.
We would highly recommend visiting Kali Vice Hostel for a beach getaway or even if you’re wanting to visit Lisbon but don’t want to stay in the city - The bus takes around 15-20 minutes to reach Lisbon or you can get a bus to Cacilhas or Trafaria and a ferry to Lisbon from there (bus stop is 5-10 minutes...
