Manawa Camp is a great place to be. It’s located just 5 min from the beach (by car) in a tranquil area. Accommodation is rather basic but well maintained and clean. It was no different from our expectations so that I can give it thumbs up. There are a small swimming pool and tennis/football/basketball court. All guests have access to the shared kitchen/dining area. This is additional to your kitchenette. However, the most significant “selling point” of Manawa Camp is its host – Gustavo. I can describe Gustavo as the most supportive and friendly host I have ever met. He was always available either in person or via WhatsUp. We got plenty of useful advice regarding local restaurants, shops, commute to Lisbon etc. On top of that Gustavo was very flexible with our check-in and check-out arrangements. If you're looking for a big five star hotel with huge flat screen, room service and golden interior, that's definitely the wrong address. But if you like to have a cozy place, that doesn't eat up all your money, a nice host who is also a surf instructor, who will give you a great service and good tips where to go, where to eat, shortcuts and a nice talk, you're definitely right here! It's genuine and I will get back to this place every time I have a stay close to the main city of Lissabon. Hotel - Beach 5min by car, City Center Lissabon (depends on traffic) 15 to 20min, Interior and bathroom meets the standards you need, there's a kitchen free to use and a nice porch to have a beer when it rains...everything to feel comfortable. It's clean, simple...
