After reading such great reviews about this bed and breakfast, I was disappointed with the way a situation was handled during my one night stay in a 2 person room.
We arrived around 2:30 pm and left a few hours later to explore the area. We got back after dinner, and went to go to sleep. By the lamp on the side of the bed, I saw a baby cockroach and tried to get rid of it, but it scurried under the lamp outlet. Then, I proceeded to check around the bed area and under the bed to do a bug check. I saw another cockroach underneath the bed on the other side, and was able to get it quickly. Then, my partner found another alive roach by the carpet at the edge of the bed. It got away. Underneath the bed, we found dead gray bugs, so I guess no one had vacuumed before we checked in. I called Catarina who works at the bed and breakfast around 1:30 am to see if they had any other available rooms for that night as I was very anxious about sleeping in the room (I do not like bugs and was worried about roaches getting into my belongings). They didn’t have anything else available so I had no other choice but to sleep cautiously in the bed after trying to call other hotels to check into (all which were full of course at that hour).
The next morning, I asked Catarina to have the house manager, Paula call me, so we can discuss what had happened. On the phone, Paula asked me why I didn’t show Catarina photos of the roaches, to which I replied I was never asked to and would happily send them over. She also told me that the building had just been checked for bugs, passed an inspection, and essentially told me what I saw couldn’t have been roaches. As I’ve lived in many places where I have come into contact with roaches, I am extremely familiar with what they look like. So yes, they were absolutely roaches. Additionally, she told me that our neighbor in the bed and breakfast told her that our window had been open all day. To be clear, our window was not open, and I find it strange that our neighbor was apparently looking at our window all day? Hmm… anyways..
Paula also said she couldn’t believe I called them that late at night about cockroaches and was unsympathetic to the situation. She also wasn’t the nicest person to talk to on the phone and was defensive. If you don’t like bugs and want better hospitality, I recommend you avoid this place and stay at a hotel, which I now...
Read moreGreat guest house with nice service. Very clean. Our room was good, with balcony with a view to a nice church, the bathroom shower and sink tiny (slim fit only). We liked the value for money. Great breakfast. Nice, helpful and very friendly hosts ❤️😊! They have they own 1-2 rent-a-cars. They book and organize your taxies when arriving late from the airport and leaving early, even breakfast was box prepared for us when leaving early (inform the staff a day before) Also 2 city bycicles to borrough for FREE!!! You definitelly need a car if you are visiting this island for few days only. To visit Agra and the closest sightseeing places a bycicle is enough. Close to best fish restaurants, supermarket, beach, pools. Maybe everything is not perfect, but you get extra service you may not experience otherwhere. We are greatful! Thank you for...
Read moreThey were very good at communicating everything. Even before we arrived , they were in constant communication. Check-in was easy, and you can even do this before you arrive to speed things up. It was clean, comfortable, very spacious, and easy to get around. They were absolutely friendly and very easy to approach. Breakfast was really good. I had eggs, toast, coffee, juice, and the homemade breakfast pastries were so delicious. Having a market close by was great because we bought some stuff and took it in and prepared it in their kitchen. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The only thing that was difficult was having a flight that landed late and arriving late meant that everything was closed, so there was difficulty in getting food...
