The food was not bad, but also not at all outstanding. We asked to try a good white wine, but unfortunately the server almost didn't speak any English. We tried the wine, but didn't liked it that much. So we asked if we could try another one. The server said that would be okay, but didn't tell us that we would have to pay for the bottles which were opened. She even told us that a bottle was 14€ instead of more than 40€. During the argument we had about the bill, they told us this would be their policy and that they wouldn't do wine tastings. Upon our reaction that it would have been their obligation to tell us that every bottle which was opened we would have to pay for, they said in all the Azores no tasting of the wine would be done. This is wrong, we tried wines before and returned them in Ponta Delgada. And in the end, the waitress should have left the bottles on the table, so we could drink them when we had to pay for them anyway, which she didn't do. Never had such a...
Read moreExcellent service, excellent food and view to the sea. Must go for seafood. As we had certain difficulty in booking more popular restaurants in Terceira island, we stopped by this one, and it was the best decision ever. Lapas are locally sourced and really good. Most central Angra restaurants will use frozen ones, whereas Quebra Mar has fresh ones. Cracas seafood is good to try- servants will explain how to eat them. Fish skewers very also very nice done. Topped with 5* cheesecake we left very satisfied. Bill was around 60€ for 2 people. We had 3 starters, one main and one desert to share. Lapas, 10 pieces of cracas(served by unit), griled baby calamaris, fish and shrimp skewer, cheesecake, white wine bottle and 2 esspresso. Good luck to Quebra Mar team, many thanks and...
Read moreQuebra Mar was recommended by our hotel concierge and it turned out to be our fave restaurant during our 7-day vacation in Terceira that we went a 2nd time for our last dinner in Terceira. Love the seafood chowder in the bread loaf. Had the flavour of a lobster bisque. Preferred this over the fish soup. We ordered the squid and shrimp skewers and the rock fish both times we were there. It came with an abundance of grilled veggies. Everything is lightly seasoned and so fresh. Tried out the limpets (yum, and you get a lot) and barnacles (kind of expensive at 2.5e each but worth trying out) and also very good. Besides the amazing food, you'll get an incredible view...
