We were at the Herdade do Pedregal in August in a family context, and we booked all 3 studios (the entire property). Before making the reservation, I told Ms. Ana Lúcia that we would be for a relaxed weekend, with children and music. We were told that there would be no problem. The studios are clean and have the necessary conditions, although there is no air conditioning, making it uncomfortable on hot nights.
As we were a large family, we spent a lot of time on the patio, socializing, eating, listening to music, and playing with the children. The problem is that we were constantly being interrupted by Ms. Ana Lúcia. On the first day, after dinner, we were chilling out, and Mrs. Lúcia appeared saying that we couldn't be doing that because her family heard everything and wanted to rest. Well, if we hadn't warned a priori that we were going to socialize, listen to music and we wanted to feel like at home with the family, that's fine. But we made sure to warn her and was accepted by the owner of the estate. But in reality, it seems that it was just to get the reservation and the money from it. Because, we couldn't be at ease without her coming to interrupt us all day! It was boring and self-serving on the part of the estate.
The owner lives on the estate and, we were not comfortable with that! We do not recommend and we will not...
Read moreJust an overnight stay here whilst hiking in the area. Friendly welcome, nice hosts. ||My studio room was very keenly priced, so I was carefully managing my expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. It was a nice, clean cosy space.||They have a good system in the kitchen - water, tea and coffee are free (and it’s proper coffee pods!), and there’s a bunch of snacks and drinks which you can help yourself to and leave the money for.||Wifi was so-so.||The guest house isn’t really close to anywhere to eat or drink. The nearest places are in Ponta do Pargo, around 20 minutes away on the old road. It’s a pretty easy walk, but the road isn’t lit and it’s pitch black at night so you need to...
Read moreA beautiful place to stay in Madeira. On the best side of the island for sunsets these apartments are nestled in outside a quiet town. The views of the ocean are amazing. The host is so friendly and lives on site should you need anything. The apartment itself was spacious, and clean, with all basic amenities covered. Free tea and coffee was a nice bonus.
Would recommend for anyone wanting a relaxing...
