Hostel 402 — Hotel in Figueira da Foz

I called this place at 2am because the other place I was staying in had a guest that was keeping me up. In the middle of the night this guy answered the phone, came downstairs and took me in, and showed me into a dorm room that I had all to myself with a beautiful window balcony, clean sheets, and a spotless bathroom. In the morning after finally getting some sleep, I wondered around some more and found a beautiful, large kitchen with everything you would need to cook a nice meal as well as many other showers/bathrooms and a beautiful living space to hangout/chill in. I should have booked this place the whole time! Not to mention the price for a dorm bed was very reasonable. Thanks so much for everything, there’s nothing like being shown a little kindness at the right moment when you’re a weary traveler in an unfamiliar place....

This is probably one of the most beautiful hostel I’d ever stayed. It’s a newly renovated hostel in a 130-ish years old building. The kitchen is fully-equipped, near the marina, 5 rooms, 3 bathrooms, separate toilets, beautiful living room, good WiFi, comfortable beds, high ceilings, and a beautiful balcony overlooking the garden. Location is also great! This is near the beach, Lidl and 3 other big grocery shops, many shops and cafes nearby and you have a beautiful view of the marina from the living room. You can do a day trip from Montemor-o-Velho, which is 30mins by bus. The hostel is 8-10mins walk from the bus/train station. Luis is very hospitable and made sure we had everything we need.
