First at all get ready if you don’t speak Portuguese ‘cause nobody there is able to speak English, not even the manager. If you are Brazilian or speak Portuguese you’re fine. Specially if you’re Brazilian. There was a fabela inside there, and I didn’t like it; Second, it’s such a cheap hostel that you’ll sleep together with bedbugs. The bunk beds are for 3 people, first time I saw that. I stayed there for a month and had to deal with it everyday, for more than 30 days of flees and I obviously didn’t get a refund for what I paid. I slept with the bugs and nobody has refunded me about it. And last but not least, the manager doesn’t respond ever. She doesnt take any responsibility of anything that’s going on. She’s not even in the place. It’s literally just run by volunteers that are more afraid of ending up in the street so don’t say anything. The volunteers are not able to communicate unless it was Brasilian portugues, so you have to find yourself around. If you don’t speak Portuguese (Brazil) don’t even go there. It’s just awful. SEXUAL HARRASMENT! NOT SAFE SPACE FOR WOMAN! Last Friday I was sexually harassed by another guest in this hostel in the middle of the night! Staff did not take me serious, they even helped harrasor escape because one witness called police. Police could only report incident. I was on my own. I did not want to stay here because I did not feel safe for 4 nights in this place. I wanted to get refund to be able to book other accommodation. The manager (female!) did not want to refund me because ‘it is not fair to us because we did not ask this man to start touching you’. Stay away from this hostel especially woman! Staff does not speak English and mainly local people here. They showed no humanity in this situation. Please don’t go there!!!! It’s also not a nice place even, you can not sit up straight in bed because 3 level bunkbeds, no space for luggage. I stayed here to budget but this harassment is not worth it!!!! I originally stayed here thru hostel world, which has a 24 hr cancellation notice.||I extended my stay and paid cash to the hostel staff for my extended stay on July 25 for Th.-sat. night.||He did not informed me of their cancelation policy. ||I tried to go on their site for the cancellation policy, i could not find any. Another employee tried but could not find any either.|| I asked another staff and that peraon didnt know.|| But when I tried to cancel the next day after extending my stay, Guiliana would not refund me my money nor did she ever give me a receipt for my cash that I asked for. || ||In addition, they had the check out date different than hostel world, so she did finally refunded me that day. ||I just think it's wrong that if you pay them directly with cash and not on the computer, that they expect u to know their cancellation policy when their employees dont know it nor did they tell me about it.
