We arrived in LO Surfcamp on a completely improvised trip, we started by booking a few nights and after prolonging many times, ended up staying for almost two weeks, it already speaks volumes.
There was a few reasons, but first and foremost, because of how amazing Diogo is. Like many reviewers already said before, he really is the best host ever, he will do anything to make your stay as perfect as possible, he always go above and beyond to make you feel at home and dedicated to helping in any way he can.
The house is wonderful, he and his wife Bibi put a lot of heart into it and it shows. It is a true surfcamp in all the best ways, it doesn't matter if you're an experienced surfer or a first timer, you will find everything you need, the equipments, the lessons and the kind of guidance or assistance you will only get from a true local. You also have many things at your disposal (almost too many), everything you'll need for cooking, some work spaces, great internet everywhere in the house, but also guitars, bikes, skateboards, tv's and many spots to chill, tan or meet the other guests, there is plenty more but we'll let you find out the rest.
The location is perfect, you have beautiful beaches and surf spots all around, accessible by walk, bike, bus, uber or Diogo's daily shuttle. There is an amazing restaurant (Tasquinha do Patachão), a small but very handy and well supplied supermarket (Mini Mercado) and an exceptional coffee shop (Cafe Búzios), all within less than a five minutes walk. But if you need more options (we didn't), you can easily go to the main town where you'll find everything you need, from big supermarkets to any kind of restaurants, shops and more.
There is also a lot to discover in the area, but we particularly enjoyed walking along the seashore and exploring Ericeira's old town, purposefully getting lost in the small streets and randomly discovering beautiful new places every time.
To conclude this (rather extensive) review, for our first time in Portugal, we couldn't have been luckier than finding this place, it was way more than we dreamed and hoped for, we missed it from the moment we left and cannot wait to go back there as soon as we possibly can. To those who will read this until the end (or just skipped to it), just a few advices left, don't look elsewhere, don't think twice, just book it already and have an...
Read moreIf I could rate higher I would. My partner and I stayed here a month in peak season. The hospitality that Diogo and Bibi gave to everyone and us was outstanding, we really felt welcomed and taken care of the entire time we were there. Diogo and Bibi are my two favourite people in all of Ericeira and not only was this a great place to stay with all the amenities, entertainment setup (it has a movie room, foosball and many other cool things) and resources and knowledge (Diogo is a fantastic surfer, a true master, and has all the local knowledge of the area for you to get the best waves) the fact that you are treated as good friends and family from the very start speaks volumes of Diogo and Bibi's character. I will always remember Ericeira as a warm and loving place because of them. Best of luck with your family trip to Morocco...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I already did went five times to „lo Surfcamp“, for many reasons: the ambience is suuuuuper chill, it feels like a big vacation family/ coloc. The place is close to the beach, you can take bikes (for free!) and discover the city or drive with your board to the surfspot.|Especially the host (Diogo) puts all his heart into Lo Surfcamp, he is suuuuper kind, open and willing to help where he can. Everyday he tells you (according to your level of surfing) when and where to go to find the best waves/ the best surfexperience. Many days he even drives you to the best spots. Sometimes he buys stuff for everybody to make a barbecue. We enjoyed all our five stays at Lo surfcamp soooo much! If you are a surfer already or you want to become one, don’t hesitate to visit...
