Pilatos House — Hotel in Ponta Delgada

Positive: The house is situated in a beautiful calm part of the island near the village of Mosteiros where you can get a very tasty octopus! The house itself is huge - it is designed for 6-8 people and we were 4 - so we were a bit like Alice in wonderland. Kitchen is lovely social place and you have stone barbecue outside aswell. Everything is nice and clean but still traditional. The view. I mean you open the door and you can spend whole vacation just sitting in the garden enjoying the view of Mosteiros, green hills and ocean. So relaxing. Plus there will be a horse watching you from time to time :). Definitely good place to stay.. Negative: Driving on the island can be pretty terrifying. Be careful for cars parked on the road, local people hard breaking without sign just to get the exit, people walking at night...

I fell in love with this house online the moment I saw it, and it exceeded all of my expectations in person. It is absolutely stunning. It’s spacious, yet cozy, and has an unbelievable panoramic view of Mosteiros, the ocean and the sunset. There are actually 4 bedrooms if you count the twin beds in the loft, and 3 bathrooms, including a full, luxurious bathroom outside! It was the perfect place to come “home” to after a long day of exploring the island. ...

We just returned from a week-long stay at Pilatos House with two other couples. The house is beautifully decorated, very clean and very well provisioned with modern conveniences for a comfortable stay (kitchen supplies, linens, laundry, etc.).
