We were here 3years ago spending Christmas on the island. It was a random choice but the fish soup and the mussles were really good so we decided to come back this time too. Waited for the bar to open and entered at noon with one more couple. Most of the tables had RESERVADO label on, so we picked one that was free. A rude waitress told us we don't have the reservation so we are just going to have to wait for her to find some place. We were with kids and did not change the table. With more people coming later and getting their food first it was really annoying. We had to wait over a good quarter for anyone to actually bother to come and take an order. Then we were informed the soup is not ready yet. Finally after 30minutes the soup arrived, yay!!! after 45 minutes we finally got the muscles and had to order bread to eat it. Kids burger arrived after an hour. Cold. And steak which was raw (and takes 5mins to make) arrived after 70minutes since we entered. Mussels were good, well seasoned and fresh, soup ok, french fries very good, and the steak was ok, but 70minutes?!?!?! Vino the casa and bread very good, but if not for the manners of one of 4waiters we would have just left after the first half an hour with no Interest in clients they show and serve everyone else first. The food was a highlight, especially the seafood 🐟. Everything we ordered tasted incredibly fresh and full of flavor. The dishes were simple yet perfectly executed, showcasing the best of local Azorean ingredients. If you’re a seafood lover, you’ll be in heaven here—the grilled fish 🐠 and octopus 🐙 were cooked to perfection.
The staff was warm, welcoming, and very attentive throughout our meal, adding a personal touch that made us feel at home. It’s clear that they care deeply about the quality of the food and the overall dining experience.
Whether you’re exploring Mosteiros or staying in Ponta Delgada, this place is well worth the trip. The combination of great food and excellent service makes a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back on my next trip...

This restaurant deserves a Michelin star or 2! The shrimp, limpets, & garlic bread were simply fantastic! The octopus, which is their special, was also really-really good, we just happened to have a mind-blowing octopus a few days ago in Lisbon that is really hard to compete with. All of this paired perfectly with a couple glasses of the white regional Terras de Lava Branco.
Given how busy the place was, the service was also really good, albeit a bit of a wait to have our order taken. The food was brought out pretty quickly though!
Dinner here truly was one of the highlights of our vacation! I am so happy the place we were originally going to for beer & snacks...
