Pio XII- Alojamento Local — Hotel in Ponta Delgada

Really basic accommodation. It’s ok if you are simply looking for a place to stay after a long day of exploring the island. I wanted a private bathroom and this was the cheapest option I could find, other than shared rooms in a hostel. It was not cheap for what it was but still the cheapest I could find. Location was good and it had free parking. Staff was helpful and nice. The wifi in the room was terrible, something they could improve. The window blind in our room was mouldy, something else they could improve. A lot of potential if they change the mattresses, add a kettle and drinks in the room and...

Any review above one star is clearly lying. We arrived into the room, spent around 15mins in there then canceled our stay and left. The room was horrible, heat around 30-35°, even hotter then outside, humid as a rainforest. The beds were somehow more uncomfortable than the floor would have been, if we even slept there. Wifi wasn't working and although we understood this was connected to catholic church the huge bible verse above the beds was just ugly. I hope everyone who reads this stays far away...

The stay was very pleasant. I recommend if you are looking for inexpensive accommodation near the city center.

very clean and tidy rooms. quietness and peace in the hotel very nice and helpful staff (we had a problem during our stay which they solved quick and right away)

sometimes there is a problem with the quality of the wi-fi, but it is enough to reset the router in the corridor and it's OK beds were quite hard and not very comfortable
