Profetas GuestHouse — Hotel in Porto Santo

It's 10pm and our Easy Jet flight that was supposed to leave at 9pm decides to cancel the flight to the next day. You can imagine the commotion with all the passengers at the airport. My daughter and I were quick to call Profetas Guest House to ask if by chance they still had a room. Lucky for us, they did! Not only did they have a room, Carolina and Ricardo were so kind and generous hosting us. Carolina even asked on the phone if we had had dinner and that they just finished theirs but would leave food out for us. Her husband Ricardo was at the airport in 10 minutes to pick us up and drive us back to the guest house. My daughter and I soon joined the family and other guests for dinner and enjoyed a delightful evening in their company. The room we slept in was clean, comfortable and a very good size. The next day our hosts served us a delicious breakfast and later gave us a lift back to the airport. I felt we really lucked out our 'delayed flight' accommodation and if we ever revisit this charming small island of Porto Santo, we will definitely return to Profetas GuestHouse. I was so nicely surprised by this accommodation and by the human touch of the owners! They were willing to pick us up from the port and then drive us everywhere we needed. The room and the bathroom were new and truly clean. For breakfast we chose to have freshly made scrambled eggs that were on point and a good quality organic coffee. Of course there were other usual things prepared for breakfast like yogurts, cereals, fresh pastry… all you would except in a hotel. We’ve been offered to have a dinner there - grilled meat. Unfortunately we turned it down, because we wanted to eat out in the centre, but I regret it now, because we could not find a higher grade restaurant in the centre and according to the breakfast I’m sure that the dinner would be amazing.

Excelente experiencia en Porto Santo! La atención que tuvieron los anfitriones con nosotros fue de cinco estrellas. Nos recogieron del punto de desembarque, nos llevaron hasta el inicio de la caminata del Pico Castelo, y siempre estaban a disposición para todo, ya fuera para ofrecernos boleia o recomendarnos buenos sitios para comer y pasarla bien. El desayuno, que estaba incluido, fue literalmente como un desayuno en casa; pusieron mucha atención a los detalles y hasta nos preguntaron si por casualidad alguien de nuestro grupo tenía alguna alergia, para optar por otras alternativas. Pienso que es una familia que entiende perfectamente lo que significa un servicio cada vez más humano y cercano, algo que muchos hoteles han olvidado...
