Located in the heart of town there isn’t much to beat this place for convenience. But it means you’re in town with not much to see but passing cars and tourists. The meals mediocre — the steak over priced, and the cut well below par especially when you’re paying 14 Euro. I suspect at the height of season when supplies come in regularly you’ll get better fare. We arrived with the explicit purpose of avoiding high season and as we discovered there are prices to pay of another sort. Save here and there but pay in quality. This is our third trip so we do have some perspective. The island as a whole has one beach to recommend it. Great if you want to unplug from society. There is a sadness to the place though, the land is parched, the locals seem disaffected, much of the infrastructure in disrepair.

Waiter did not bring food as ordered, despite waiting for 40 minutes at almost empty restaurant we did not ask for a change of food and we ate as it is... food is averagr but service in this case is bad. Also the wooden "plates" could be changed already because there can be seen discoloration from previous foods... Plate with local sausages and cheeze contained 100% comercial sousage with artificual colors and there was no place for it on plate named like that..

My husband and I had the fantastic garlic bread with a cheese & sausage plate, which was enough for two persons. Asking the waitress which wine she would recommend, she recommended the house wine that was very refreshing. Surprisingly it was also one of the cheapest wines on the wine card. We had a wonderful evening with good wine and food and would definitely visit again when we once come back to Porto Santo.
