The rooms are not too modern and not too old, but lack a batter television and there’s no mini fridge. The windows only had one with blinds, the other one didn’t had it so in the morning we had some light in the room.|The pool barely gets any sun.|The entertainment is very limited since the pool (billiards) were out of service due to the table being mistreated. The table tennis was also terrible since the rackets and ball were in very poor conditions. The rackets had holes in them and were the cheapest ones available. The ball also didn’t jump normally, also very poor quality.|The room’s wallpapers are very old fashioned, giving the space a bit of an ugly appearance.|The room also misses a place to be able to dry wet clothes (from the beach, for instance), near the window for example, since there’s no balcony on the room.|The breakfast is also very limited. You have nothing from english/american breakfast (sausages, mushrooms, beans, eggs, …). There’s only bread, ham & cheese & butter, cereals, drinks (hot and cold - coffee, milk, hot chocolate, juice), cake, yogurts and (whole) fruits, since the sliced fruits were from canned fruit. No food was covered, every piece of food was exposed to the people so if someone sneezes near food, you’ll eat it dirty.|The public “TV” room was a small room with a very tiny TV and you can’t see anything.|The rooms are not very good with insulation since you can even hear people on the bathroom from other rooms and that’s not your best experience.|On the good side, the hotel is well located in the heart of the city. The cake from the breakfast is very good. And if you’re lactose intolerant, they also have milk with no lactose...
Read moreWe booked along with the Porto santo line ferry from Funchal. As soon as we got there at 11:40, our room was ready which was a huge relief as we had a 3 year old and a 9 month old baby with us. ||The room was big enough for us and the beds were comfy. They had set up a travel cot with a sheet and blankets for baby and the cot was in really good condition! There was a mini fridge in the room which was very helpful with us having baby bottles. The air conditioning worked really well, very pleased as it was very hot and we have two sweaty children lol! |The shower unit was a little small but for a nights stay we didn’t really mind. |The staff were extremely friendly, every staff member was smiling and was happy to answer any of our questions. There was always cleaning staff dotted around which was good as I saw them cleaning around the hotel all the time. We didn’t use the pool but it was an alright size and the water looked clear. |We needed to use a microwave and hot water for baby bottle and they kindly let us go down to the restaurant area whenever we wanted to go and fill up our hot flask and microwave out bottles. |We personally loved the breaskfast! It was a continental breakfast so pastries, bread, cereal etc. ||The only small downside is there is no lift, we luckily stayed on the first floor so it wasn’t so bad but we did leave the pram downstairs which they were happy for us to do. ||We really enjoyed our...
Read moreFrom good points are good location (in center so close to everything- bus stop, shops, beach.) , good WI-FI and good housekeeping team (room and public places were clean). |Not friendly staff on reception- no simple Hello or Buy, no smile during all our stay. Breakfast is very poor. I think it's better to not have it at all, that provide poor quality coffee and juices. Bread and croissant was very dry and black. Rooms with very bad isolation, you can hear everything that happen around next rooms and on the street. During weekend a lot families stay in hotel with kids, after 22:30 they were running on corridors on the first floor where was our room and receptionist didn't say them anything about noise. Next to swimming pool duches were not working at all. Pool isn't same as on the picture. In general hotel need investment and some renovation. TV in rooms small and old, tv remote wasn't work properly. On windows no transparent courtains, that basically everyone can see that you doing in the room. In the evening if you sleep with open window mosquitos are coming. I did reservation with 1 double bed and hotel provided twin without apologies, only on next day housekeeping changed it to double bed. I was stay for 5 nights and will not come back. On the island there are not a lot of hotels but during season a lot of people coming so most of workers in hotels don't care, if you will not stay so...
