Excellent value, perfect location, attentive staff and memories of how Portugal used to be. Most Estalagem are run along the same lines but this one is exceptional.||Estalagem Sequeira has held onto the great traditions and service of the Portuguese people and stuck by them. Not spoiled by how 'the english' want and say things should be done. If you want traditional Portugal with all the mod cons of today, this is the place.. ||Polished marble floors, highly polished wooden floors in your room, en-suite, air conditioning/heating, probably one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed in. They change the sheets and towels every day, thoroughly clean and tidy your room and nothing whatsoever, is a problem for the friendly, attentive but typically reserved, english speaking Portuguese staff. ||I stayed for a week and have booked again for May. The breakfast is 'typical', excellent, relaxed and, 'included', from 7.30am to 10.30am, even at weekends, so if you have to be at the airport early, as I did, it is ideal.||While there is no restaurant on site (as someone in the reviews mentioned but failed to follow up on), it is essential to point out that there is a lovely well run snack bar on site, just by reception and if you ask Marta for the "Prata do Dia", Portuguese for Plate/Dish of the day, (and there is usually more than one) you will be both surprised and full up. You will be also hard pressed spend more than six euros, that is including the very drinkable 'Pias' wine and the best coffee in the world, ask for a 'bica'. Yes, there is no 'working' restaurant on site but there are 20 plus, other restaurants to choose from in the area of Sao Bras and not a bad one amongst them and to suit every, yes every, pocket, plus numerous bars and takeaways within the town. You will never go hungry or thirsty in Sao Bras de Alportel. The town has so much to offer and is steeped in history & tradition.||If you are not afraid or phased by trying local ways, want something reasonable, clean and unspoilt, with excellent service and speedy internet, air conditioning/heating, en-suite bath or shower room, secure on site parking, perfect location and tradition, then look no further than Estalagem Sequeira.||Go on, be...
Read moreThis is a pretty simple hotel, but it has a nice terrace, good air conditioning, refrigerator in the room if you request one, parking (free, but not guaranteed) and it's two steps from the new square in town, so you can walk to cafes, shopping, and sights. The breakfast is really bad -- probably the worst we've had in years of traveling as the "fruit juices" are sugary juice drinks, the coffee is weak, there is very little fresh fruit (we saw the same oranges and apples day after day), and little choices in other areas. But the staff were very nice and, even though we couldn't speak Portuguese, were patient with our attempts and my very bad French. It's quite a drive to the beach from here though -- don't believe the quotes of 20 minutes. You'd have to fly down the roads and have a guaranteed parking space waiting for you. Allow 45...
Read moreQuiet and clean hotel but......the Wi-Fi is abysmal,we stayed for eight days,I rely on the internet to do emails and make plans for the following day, unless we woke at 4.30am or got back to the hotel mid afternoon the internet was hopeless.,breakfast is included in the price but if you're an early riser and want to get away before it gets too hot don't expect the breakfast room to open before 7.15am at the earliest,I was also disappointed that there was no fresh orange juice provided, the Orange(and Lemon) was sugar free squash, there is a machine for hot drinks. There are some good restaurants in the town with an Aldi and...
