Ysconderijo — Restaurant in São Brás de Alportel

Everything a very good restaurant should be and offer: nice atmosphere, excellent, friendly, swift, but not rushed service, wonderfully presented, delicious meals...and all that at really reasonable prices! We definitely will come back! Update 2 years later (we actually came back!): I can only confirm and extend what I wrote before: The food is excellent and the service very attentive, but unobtrusive and discreet (the staff wear white gloves to change cutlery).The dishes are presented very attractively, imaginatively and with great attention to detail (you eat with your eyes!). Absolutely the most fantastic dining experience in São Bras - a must visit! An exquisite selection of cocktails and drinks to start the evening can be accompanied with a selection of chef spreads and patés and a basket of bread. The starters were small portions with popping flavours that really set the standard for the night. The main course was a fair portion of extremely well presented and seasoned foods, a massive recommendation for the shrimps and pork belly. The desserts and appertifs were a wonderfully satisfying finish to the night.

Invited to dinner by some dear friends. While my wife and I eat is SBDA frequently, never realized Ysconderijo was there. It is a nice venue, more upscale than most, but not extravagantly priced. The menu is large enough to appeal to all diners, the platings were wonderful, and the service was topnotch. The wine list contains some definite winners at reasonable pricing.
