I booked a double room in this hotel well in advance (early May) for mid-August. When we arrived in the afternoon, Ana showed us our room, which was the only room on the ground floor, between the reception desk and the parking lot. Thus, you can hear from the room everything that is happening at reception, and the view from the window is directly onto the cars of the parking. This room (I assume it is the room adapted for people with reduced mobility) really did not look like the photos that can be seen on the hotel website. In particular, it does not have balconies, and neither this nice traditional design advertised on the website. Therefore, it should not be rented at the same price. Furthermore, we did not appreciate Ana's reaction when we replied that the room did not correspond to what I had booked. She argued that she had no way of changing our room because the booking platform alone can decide, while the hotel staff cannot make any changes. This seems a little surprising. Ana also told us that the establishment is quiet, but it is difficult to peacefully enjoy a room located right next to the entrance and reception, knowing that there is no one from the hotel staff after 8 p.m. In the event of noise pollution, we would therefore be left to manage the inconvenience on our own. The hotel staff will certainly respond to this comment by indicating that they usually do everything they can to satisfy customers, but the problem is upstream: this room simply should not be rented at the same price as the others. Finally, we decided not to stay at this hotel, and the team radically refused to refund one of the two nights of my reservation, which would have been a normal goodwill gesture given the circumstances. Read moreI have just returned from a stay at Marsuites. I chose this particular family run hotel as I find that family run hotels are better than soulless corporate ones. I also chose it for its great location and proximity to the beach (a nice small bar on the corner beside the hotel was an added bonus for a post-dinner drink at the end of each night). The front of house team consisted of husband and wife and daughter. And even granddad was at reception as I arrived on day one. The elevator was particularly ideal as our party of 3 consisted of a man with MS and a 90 year old with mobility problems. The rooms were spotless and incredibly comfortable. The breakfast choice could not have been better. On our final day, they seemed genuinely delighted to have made our acquaintance and said that they sincerely hoped that our visit was not just a one time thing. Nobody expected hugs all around but that is what happened and sent us away with smiles all around. In fact the husband was not in reception as we left but ran down the road after us to say his goodbyes. Service excellence quite evident...
