Villa La Dolce Vita — Hotel in Băile Herculane

Terrible experience!!!||||First of all, pension is not even located in Herculane.It is located in Pecinisca,a village near the company responsible for garbage collecting and you need to take car in order to reach to Herculane.||Employees are not friendly, the only thing that matters is to take money from tourists using cheap tricks:||-for reservation, they requested prior payment - we transfered money to their bank account (the next day after arrival, they told us to leave the room and moved us to a small room on the roof, inventing excuses that somebody booked our first room a long time in advance.They didn't want even to give us back the money in case we would have left that day.)||-they requested from us to pay them the withdrawal comission that they have with bank (!?),first time when I hear that...,||-you need to pay for jacuzzi (20 RON/30 min)||Price is very high comparing to what they offer.You can find a hotel in Herculane centre for a lower price.||Cats were roaming everywhere; travelling through restuarant.Sometimes cats were resting in the rocking chair.||Room where we stayed during first night was pretty ok despite the fact near the bed gas heater was located.||The next night we had to move to a room on the roof:small, filthy, very warm.Bed sheets...

I stayed here for just one night in one of the apartments, with my friends, during the first weekend of September 2015. This is a place that makes you feel comfortable the moment you pass through the door. The facility is horizontal, so you can easily enjoy the stunning view behind it (the Feregari Gorge), you can even soak in the pool where you can take full advantage of the same aforementioned stunning view. The apartment we stayed in was very clean, with 2 twin beds on the upper level, a foldable couch downstairs, as well as a double bed in an entirely separate room. The same apartment features a private bathroom and a delightful sitting area on the covered terrace right in front. There is a nice garden with lovely inviting garden furniture for the guests to share when its nice and sunny outside. There is a restaurant/cafe where you can buy food and drinks and also a spa (which I didnt try but I bet it`s nice too). The staff is a little shy, but still accommodating. Highly recommended for the good prices as well. The location is good, away from the crazy downtown of Herculane, but within walking...

The true rank would in fact be somwhere between average and very good, but the place receive a "very good" from me mainly because it was way better than expected (we have read other reviews after we did the booking and we expected a disaster - we were extremely pleased to find something so much different). It is a Spa place and you have to pay for various services (jacuzzi, thermal bath - sulph, massage, etc.). The place was clean. The rooms were simple, but had everything we needed. Wi-Fi indeed not working and we did see a cat around, but it was far from bothering anyone with his presence. We are animal lovers so a cat would hardly ruin with our peace&fun on a holiday. The place also seemed to be children friendly - a lot of the area was fitted to acomodate children (toys, etc.). Not in the center of resort, but then again, none of the good pensions are, the resort is crowded and I would not choose to stay anywhere close. Overall,...
