We stayed at Siret as a group of 8 for Sunwaves festival last month. We actually stayed there in 2014 as well on our first visit to Mamaia, and decided to come back after a bad hotel experience up the road in 2015. Our first day went smoothly enough, with the lovely Oana who had organised our booking via email taking our money and showing us to our rooms. As in 2014, the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. We were happy we had chosen Siret again as we were only a 5 minute walk from the action. Being close to the festival becomes even more important when your legs stop working and you have to crawl home.||||The free breakfast was a nice touch as always, while it was a bit limited it was more than some hotels offered and the sausage and eggs went down well after a night on the sauce. Our friend Alejandro has a massive appetite and dispatched about 30 eggs every morning so we weren't left with much after that but the staff knocked some more up whenever we asked. I actually ended up covered in egg one morning after an excitable friend we had brought away with us for the first time made it clear we had made a big mistake letting him come. Sorry about the mess and rest assured he won’t be coming next time.||||The only moan I have about the hotel is the general indifference of the maids. On the second night, I came down to ask for a couple of clean towels as we’d only been provided with one on arrival. Our dirty ones had been taken so we had nothing to dry with after showering. What ensued was a 10 minute standoff in reception, as I made lots of hand movements and spoke with an accent while one of the reception workers tried to convince the maid into giving me a towel. Pack it in and hand it over girl! The next morning, our friend was getting a well-earned sleep after not coming out at all the previous night, and wouldn't answer the door when we knocked. The maid abandoned her towel guarding post and appeared with her master key to open the door. This was appreciated on this occasion but I’d feel a little uneasy if we were out and a stranger asked to get into our room, and she opened it without any hesitation.||||Overall, another pleasant stay and we’ll definitely come back. Just tell that maid to hand over the bloody...
Read morePROs: Comfortable bed; good size of bathroom; the balcony was a plus since my husband is a smoker; decent breakfast; modern furniture; good terrace where you can have a few drinks or eat something; close to the beach. It was ok for a 3-night stay, but I don't think I'd stay here again. ||||CONs: The access card didn't work properly. We had to go back to the reception area twice to make it work. There was dust everywhere, the lamps looked horrible, the sheets were a bit dirty and the towels were gray. The bathroom door handle was broken. The reception lady was a bit of a sourpuss, but her manager was very polite. We requested late check-out, and although check-in starts at 6 p.m. (as displayed in the reception area), they wouldn't allow us to check out later than 1 p.m. There is a single chair on the terrace, although the rooms are double (???). If they took better care of this hotel, it could...
Read moreMy experience in this hotel was not as I thought it would. I know it is a 2 star hotel, but cleanliness is supposed to be a standard no matter where you go. The bed sheets were dirty and when we figured that out, the cleaning ladies were already gone so when we wanted them changed, it didn't happen. The balcony had a rusty old metal rocking chair, inside the room there was a constant noise and we had no idea where it came from. I didn't have the chance to photograph the sheets, but trust me, it was the first time this ever happened and I've been to all sorts of places, from 5 starts hotel to 2 starts hotel, studios, Airbnb and hosts in the mountainside. The restaurant of Hotel Siret has a menu with stuff they don't always have and they have unexpectedly high prices for what they offer. Would...
