We arrived early Monday morning and were pleasantly surprised to find out that the room was ready, 'cause the other guests left really early. It was great not to have to wait until check-in time at 14:00, as we were there with our 19 months old baby girl. The room is really big, all the rooms face the lake and the sea shore. The furniture is simple, but elegant. It has air-conditioning and a small lcd tv. we had a double room, but found out on our last day there that the armchair could easily be made into a bed. There is a clothes wire for hanging up to dry the wet things you bring back from the beach. The bathroom is quite small, but there is no bad smell anywhere (some seaside hotels smell like they're moldy, this was not the case). There is a dining place down stairs where they serve breakfast between 8:00 and 10:00 am. The food is the same everyday, but there are plenty of things to choose from, so you won',t get bored. They have there a special chair for babies, which was very useful, as our daughter tends to run around from place to place if I don't strap her in the cahir during feeding times. There is also a play area for children in the lobby and outside. There are plenty of couches in the lobby and tables on the terrace for relaxation and to enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of juice.||What i didn't like: I found an ice-cream stick under the bed the morning we arrived, so it wasn't so thoroughly clean as I had expected. The balcony is a very dangerous place for a toddler, because the air conditioning appliances are within reach, and because a toddler could easily fit through the railing of the balcony (we stayed on the fifth floor, so our daughter was not allowed on the balcony). There is soooooooo much noise coming from outside, as the hotel is right next to the Aqua Park, I do not recommend leaving the window open. It's quite pleasant in the room with the air conditioning turned on, but once ones steps outside, on the hallway and in the elevator, ones feels like suffocating. The terrace and the outside playground could not be used on the first days or our vacations because of the really strong wind. What I really hated was the surroundings. The hotel is near the beach (maybe 10-15 minutes to walk, depending on the direction ones chooses), but it's a very dirty place, full of dust, no sidewalks, garbage all over the place. The beach near the hotel is small and crowded, but with plenty of chaisses-longues to rent for the day. There are so many restaurants in town, none of the ones we went to had baby chairs. The famous Faleza is a nice place to walk, but is extremely crowded at night, so is the souvenir shops area. The beach near the Faleza is huge, but has so many sea shells in the sand, it gives it a dirty look. ||Overall, enjoy your stay at this hotel is a nice place. We were lucky that the circus was near by (20 meters), because there is not much else to do at night...
Read moreThe hotel itself is OK. Decent breakfast buffet. Nice terrace and garden. It's also convenient when travelling with kids.||If you have a baby stroller, then the access is easy due to the ramp from the street.||The rooms are big enough and the bathrooms are OK. ||Everything is very very clean and well maintained. ||The staff are very nice and polite.||The really downside of the hotel itself is that is has no ventilation or AC system on the typical floor corridors and neither in the elevator. Therefore, from the lobby until you reach your room, the air in the elevator and on the corridor is not breathable. This is a significant discomfort. ||||The surroundings are horrible. Too much dust. Unfinished or broken pedestrian pavement. The music from the beach club is always too loud (of course this is not the fault of the hotel, but it is good to be informed). For these reasons, the price of the hotel is too high, IMO. Maybe with better and more civilized surroundings, it would be OK.||||One other downside is that the hotel does not have a restaurant. I don't understand how hotel stars are established by the authorities in Romania, but I believe a 3 star hotel should have...
Read moreI had a very unpleasant experience at this hotel. ||Last year we decided on Saturday morning to go for the weekend to the sea side and searched for an available room at any hotel we could find. We talked on the phone with someone at the reception of hotel Vis, they said they have one available room, so we quickly packed our bags and went towards the sea side. On the road we thought on going to the beach first and check in after that, so we won't miss the sun. We phoned the hotel and told them we will be arriving late, in the evening. We got there at around 7 or 8 pm and the manager told us they didn't think we were coming so they gave our room to someone else! That was very unprofessional of them, considering we let them know before hand what time we will be arriving. Since it was the middle of the season, we had some troubles in finding another place to stay and we were very disappointed about what happened with our reservation. ||The hotel looked ok from the outside, we didn't get to...
