Very good hotel, it was our last stop in Romania, we had journey from the north to the sea. It was really important for us to have hotel near the beach (photo is the view from the room😀). When I saw opinions of the hotel I was really shocked and nervous. How nice surprised it was for us when we realized that it is really different than people described! From the beginning when we go into the hotel on the recepction was sitting very nice women, who was probably learning, but also another very nice girl was teaching her, we spoke about Poland. We had very clean room with the view on the beach (we asked about it before on booking), also parking, but you had to know English to speak with parking worker (they was also very nice). We bought breakfasts for 19 RON /1. Breakfasts instead of two sets (you must choose what you want and they bring you - bread, ham, cheese, jam, butter, some tomatoes and olives and what you choose -fried eggs and 2 sausages or boiled eggs, coffee, tea, juice etc). I remember the situation when they gave me one sausage and in 5 minutes said really sorry and bring me the second, I even didn't recognize I have only one😁 Of course, someone can say it was always the same and really small thing but I and my husband travel very often and saw lots of hotel and the breakfasts for this price with very kindly staff in 3 stars hotel was really great. I also worked in hotels and know it isn't so easy to take care of all guests in this level. Also recepction, kitchen, parking staff was very kindly. The third day the Cleaning Service asked us if we want something, clean etc. For us it was normal, they didn't clean rooms everyday, even in some 4 stars hotels in west European Countries they inform you to leave towels to wash only if it is necessary because of environment. In Jijo's Hotel you have all the informations in the recepction on the beginning. For this price, location, views, kindly staff for me 4 stars! Also thanks to reception and parkman for nice goodbye saying, it is not do often that they recognize you, especially in big hotels....
Read moreRooms so small you can use the queen-sized bed as a floor. Bathrooms so crammed it's like you were in a sarcophagus! We had to buy two rooms for a family of three because we just didn't have enough space! The closets, all creaked, even the ones in the other rooms, which you could hear through the paper-thin walls everywhere. The mini-fridge in my room wasn't properly working, which, due to the one lamp in the room that provides almost no lighting, I wasn't able to see what was wrong with it. The shower is just a shower head above the literal toilet, which when you decide to wash yourself, makes everything in the bathroom moist, if not wet outright! The bathroom floor was also never dry, so any sand or little shell on you would just fall onto the floor and sit there!
The hotel's layout is very confusing. Some rooms, like the one I had, have their entrance on the outside, which made it inherently less safe! Some rooms were next to the pool, like my parents', which had the disadvantage of you being able to hear everything going on in and next to the pool! Some rooms have a balcony, some have 2 chairs in front of the door. This hotel is the literal representation of the "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get" quote... except for the bathrooms, I guess, those were all the same.
What I can appreciate about this hotel, though, is the water pressure and temperature of the shower, which didn't disappoint, and also the staff, who were really nice and helpful!
We didn't get to experience room service or the breakfast, so I'm not commenting on those.
Overall, I'd say my stay was... pretty okay, with many drawbacks that I chose to ignore before I went crazy with the nitpicks. But this is (barely) a three star hotel, so... beggars can't be...
Read moreThe welcoming in the hotel was very friendly. But the most of the staff only speaks Romanian what means that they can not help you when you ask something. ||We booked six rooms in the hotel what means that we were bringing in a lot of guests at the same time. We all booked together. So we all booked the same service and breakfast. ||But at the first morning half of the rooms weren't booked at the breakfast. So half of the guests had to go to the reception to ask for their breakfast. At the reception they asked us to pay extra for the breakfast. But because we all booked the same service we didn't want to pay extra. So no breakfast for half of our group. ||At the breakfast room they weren't organized at all. It took them half an hour to bring our coffee. When we asked why it took so long the answered us really unfriendly. ||Everyone asked the same coffee but some got big cups others got small cups. Strange. ||The hotel is recently renovated but is completely not finished. The rooms were also renovated but could have been finished better. At the swimming pool there were some electric cables hanging out?!?! ||And when the kids jumped in and out of the pool the security guy told us to stop it because the cables. It is really dangerous. ||For the sun beds we had to pay extra and as you moved more towards the sea the beds got more expensive. ||At the beach there was a dj booth that played continuous house music day and night. Unstoppable beats on a high volume. Really enoying when you hear it while you are trying to sleep with the...
