Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! An absolute terrible experience and even more unbelievable, it was with the actual "hotel" manager. The firm that I work for, had one of the conference rooms booked for 4 weeks in advance, on the first floor (the lift only works from the ground floor and the first stop is 3rd floor) so every participant to the meetings (vast majority elderly people) had to climb 2 sets of stairs to get to the room. The room is very small so in a very hot summer day if you use the air conditioner can be very unpleasant as the machine is too close. And now I'll get to the most unpleasant moment... I came into the car park one morning and one of the cars parked quite at the entrance, was almost blocking about 3 quarters of the car park, I managed to squize through (with help from a bystander). As I went in, outside, having a cigarette, was the hotel manageress so I have mentioned about the car that was reprezenting a danger to the cars that were going to try to get in the car park but even more to the ones that were going to have to leave. (obviously I thought they have done the common sense thing of taking the registration number of any car that parks in their car park). The manageress's reaction, sitting down and puffing away from her tasty cigarette, was : " Are you going to tell me how to manage my own car park?" My next fraze was : "Sorry, I was just making an observation, and a suggestion to eliminate a possible accident". The puffing manageress continued " You should be grateful that I am not ordering you to remove your cars from the car park, and cancel your contract! " My reply was : "That is a very good customer service technique!"... and I turned to go and remove my car from the car park... Obviously, affected by my ironic remark or maybe by the nicotine rush, she said : " OK that's it! I am going to cancel your contract, you are not telling me how to do my job! " Conclude by saying that, although the customer service in Romania is very poor, I have never been treated with more disrespect by anybody in my entire life... I will never set foot anywhere near this hotel. I hope that my patience and time consumption to write this long experience will help you in making the right decision in the future, I don't have the "no stars option,...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel for a few nights in May 2009. It was about a 5 minute drive to the beach/boardwalk in Constanta. It was about a 10 minute drive to downtown Constanta. I stayed here because my boyfriend's family knew the owners. ||||Our room was HUGE, with a Queen size bed, tv, build in wardrobes, private bathroom... all the amenities you would find in an American hotel. My only grip was that there was no iron or ironing board, but I learned this is not standard in European hotels, as they want you to use their drycleaning services.||||The staff was friendly; however, the parking lot and entry to the building were not convenient. You had to wait until the front desk clerk noticed you at the gate before the parking lot gate was opened. Then there were stairs leading into the lobby, which where you are carrying lots of heavy luggage, is not fun! [Note, this building is not handicap accessible].||||There is a restaurant on the rooftop, which I would recommend. If you sit outside you can have a great view of the Black Sea and the beach, as well as the local area. There is a local seagull "Costica" who will fly in and land on the ledge, waiting for some of your french fries! I fed him many of my fries and he was very friendly. You will notice the pink marking on his beak! He has been coming to this ledge for years and is very friendly!||||Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying...
Read moreThe rooms in this hotel are extremely modern and well-designed - they are spacious with a great view of the sea, comfortable furnishings and the bathroom glass windows make a great finishing touch. They also store your bags if you want to spend the day exploring without needing to carry them around, which was appreciated. It's only a short walk to the seafront and main town.
However, my room was extremely hot - 28c and the air conditioning didn't work, or at least it didn't do anything to cool the room down. After having it on full power for 3 hours the temperature had not changed. I called reception and they weren't very helpful, told me they'd reset it (they turned it off and on again) and no change. Made for a really uncomfortable night.
Furthermore, I clearly misread the sign in the room saying the water was free, and consumed one of the bottles in the fridge since the room was so hot; clearly I was wrong and upon going to collect my bags, was told (to quote) "you tried to steal the water from the mini bar". I was happy to pay for it but I really didn't appreciate being accused of stealing and adopting such a curt approach over a mistake and 10 lei. I will find another...
