Hotel Bavaria — Hotel in Craiova Metropolitan Area

Simple and small hotel.||Old fashioned but looks very nice.||Clean, comfortable, good location, good service.||Breakfast was excellent. Cold and hot drinks. Cold and hot sausages. Various types of cooked eggs. Yogurts, vegetables, various types of cheese, serials etc.||We took a senior suite and a junior suite.||Senior suite is very big and has a bath.||Both suites have TV in each room.||There’s an issue with the hot water. It is warm but not hot. For some reason my wife and kids did not mind. I did.||The bath and shower rooms had a strange odor.||Some things are well maintained while others need attention.||For example, the curtains in the entire hotel are the same and look new.||The elevator looks new and modern.||However, the doors and bathrooms need some maintenance. E.g. broken soap dispensers.||There are a few parking spots in front of the hotel. Not more. However, there’s always parking on the street.||No kettle for making coffee. That’s a downside.||Next to the hotel you have Q club. It is a bowling and billiard place which also has food. E.g. pizza.||The center is very close and you can easily go to the food court in the Mercur mall.||There’s a laundry service near by. Look for ‘washerr’ in google maps and you will find it. Let's start with the con: don't stay in here in the weekend because their restaurant is opened for events and that will mean loud music for the hotel guests. It happened to us both on Friday and Saturday (and the one on Saturday lasted until 2 AM). The restaurant is not sound proofed. Or ask for a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor (our was at the first floor).||But this hotel also has a lot of pros:||- 10 minutes walking distance to the city center||- cleaning service every day||- breakfast included (buffet, plenty options) with very helpful staff ||- restaurant open until 12 AM and really cheap prices for very good food||- pet friendly||My recommendation: the best hotel from Monday to Thursday and in the weekend ask if there are any parties and ask for a room as far as possible from...

This is NOT a 4 star hotel. A four star hotel would not have the following (which Bavaria Hotel Craiova does): -A shower that will not drain, you stand in your own dirty water. -Breakfast that will not start at the same time everyday, nor when the front desk says it will start -Blasting club music during breakfast -Serving yourself your own drinks -Air Conditioning that is shut off everyday when it is over 90 degrees F -Air Conditioning that blows softer than you can fan yourself -Actual parking spaces.
