Hotel Melodia — Hotel in Mangalia

I have recently spent a 7-days' vacation at Melody Hotel, in Venus, a fashionable seaside resort on the Romanian Black Sea Coast, and I must say I was more than pleasantly surprised by the top-quality amenities and services being provided to all guests by a highly-mannered and well-trained staff.||This four-star all-inclusive hotel is located in the middle of a large green area, with generous lawns all around, large and safe parking lots, playgrounds for children and fitness devices for adults. It also has a large outdoor swimming-pool, adequately equipped with all kinds of wellness installations and an indoor spa area with sauna and separate rooms for relaxation, massage included, that can be used for free upon prior reservation at the Reception. ||Whoever wants to enjoy sunbathing and swimming in the sea, may use the private sandy beach of the hotel, which is less than 150 m far from the seaside, where new sun-beds and umbrellas are also available free of charge for any in-staying tourist.||As for food, the hotel offers three, very rich and tasty meals plus drinks, refreshments, coffee, cookies and ice-cream all day long, either at the indoor bar of the restaurant, or at the outdoor swimming-pool bar. The food is always very good and fresh, abundant and highly-diversified, with a lot of special treats in Vegan, Asian, Mediterranean and Romanian style, available for everyone to try any combination of tastes in indefinite amounts... Besides a large indoor restaurant, the meals may also be served in an outdoor courtyard, around a pool with artesian wells and water plants. Later in the evening, anyone can enjoy exquisite drinks (especially fine wines from Beciul Domnesc vineyards - Romania's top-quality wine area and brand) and good-music entertainment around the swimming-pool which magically turns into a tune-in playing fountain with colored water jets. ||The rooms are very clean, have individual balconies opening to the green lawns around the hotel and provide all needed facilities: safe-box, TV-set, air-conditioning, fridge with mini-bar, shower and bath cosmetics etc. ||The staff is always very kind and helpful and the Chef always seems very inspired, to the tourists' delight...! ||There are various sporting or entertainment activities each day for all age-groups and on week-ends, there are parties, with good music, food and wine! The fact that the hotel also has a large and modern conference / media room nearby is also a major positive thing as various meetings, workshops, seminars may also be organized upon request. ||In short, I would most-warmly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have an all-in experience by the Black Sea Coast as all details I have previously described really make the difference...! This was one of ou worst choices ever.||This hotel is at best an average one, 3 star hotel with loudly waitresses that didn't do their job and which had to be avoided if one wanted to get a cup of coffee. They were loud and noisy and laughed out loud. One day, a guest dropped a spoon on the floor and wanted to put it back to the clean cutlery. When I told him not to do that one of the waitresses started laughing and told him, sure, put it back on the floor. (this was supposed to be a joke?) . She didn't do anything, just stayed there and laughed.||None of the waitresses ere supervised. They were just a group of teens that lacked any supervision. There was just one boy who kept working and was also very polite, while the others just hanged in there.||||||The room was not clean when we arrived. There were crumbs on the floor which were cleaned the next day. The light in the room had a problem and kept flashing. Although I complained about it, it wasn't fixed at all and it was very unpleasant. ||||Beach towels, robe or slippers were not provided. Only adults got one beach towel. We went there with the kids. Although I asked for them and would have paid extra, they were not provided. The attitude of the desk clerk was also pretty rude when I asked about the beach towels.||||As for food, the hotel offers 4-5 meals plus drinks, coffee, cookies and ice-cream, either at the indoor bar of the restaurant, or at the outdoor swimming-pool bar. The ice-cream and popcorn could be served just between 4 and 5. We never got any ice-cream because we didn't make this ”happy hour! One day we got there are 5:01 but the waitress told me they didn't have any ice cream, so that was only in the advertisement. ||||The rooms are nice but a bit smalI. So this is more like an upper 3 stars than a 4 stars hotel. And definitely not all inclusive.|| If you really want a good all inclusive experience skip this one and...

As a family of four, with children of 6 and 8 years, we found this hotel quite pleasing. The event was organised by Toastmasters Constanța and the choice was a good one. What I found as absurd that you can check-in only at 16:00 hours, but the personnel was nice and let us use the pool and the beach while our room was prepared. We have received it one hour before, anyway, it is absurd to check in that late. You receive a bracelet that guarantees your entrance at the pool and the beach. They have a private beach which is one of the best from the resort. The access to the beach is full of litter and need to walk through construction sites to get to the beach, but you can do it. The pool is very nice, especially for children, but as an adult you can soak up the sun and have fun with a beer or cocktail. They have entertainment programs like dancing lesssons or aqua gym all free for the guests. The room is quite small, but thew quality of the materials used is high. You also have a small balcony. The elevators are not well maintained. At the fifth floor, the panel was damaged and you had to be lucky to be able to call it. My son said that we are at a secret floor, as the number five from the panel inside the elevator was erased. The personnel is nice to the tourists (mosty of them are from Moldova) and they are detail oriented. The food is great, full 5 stars. The breakfast, lunch and dinner is very diverse and I am sure it will satisfy...
