Hotel Raluca — Hotel in Mangalia

The first thing that I must tell people who might not be too familiar with Europe or Romania specifically, is that this will not be exactly like your home or the finest stay you could possibly pay for. That being said, I must say that I was pretty impressed by this hotel. We were not sure what to expect with such an affordable price and we've seen some rough reviews. However, aside from a very few cosmetic imperfections, we thought the room itself was pretty nice and very clean. Housekeeping came daily to make beds and remove trash and the staff was A+! Although they struck me as being a bit rude at first, they proved to be very helpful. The manager even gave up her private room, and had it cleaned first, to give it to my father-in-law so our family could all room side by side. My husband is disabled and is in a wheelchair and we had no trouble asking the staff or even other guests to help us down the small amount of stairs to get to the lobby. If you're concerned about the trip to the beach, yes I will say it is a little bit of a walk. However, in Romania walking is not such a big deal and assuming that you're not completely lazy , this walk is very manageable and only about 5 mins. Just bring what you need to spend the day at the beach and you won't need to run back to the hotel many times. My husband and I were confused about the amenities offered as we found that it varies from site to site so I will also say here what we found. Yes there is an elevator, however there are just a few (5 or so) steps that you have to climb to access the "ground" floor where you will find the elevator so be prepared for that. There is also a ramp at the front of the building to access the lobby so no worries there. The shower is in a typical Romanian style so even though there is a cloth shower curtain, the water will go all over the floor in the tiled bathroom but there is a floor drain in the center of the bathroom so be prepared for this as well. A wet bathroom is not unusual in this country as they usually build their bathrooms completely out of tiles and design it to get wet. There are balconies in almost every room above the ground floor, air conditioning in all rooms (or at least most but I think they all have a/c) there is also a tv though ours was a small, old model. I think all of the rooms have two twin beds. I do not think you can get one large bed in your room. This is another typical European thing so don't be alarmed and if it bothers you that much you can easily push the beds together and stuff a towel in the center of them. The beds are, however, very low to the ground so keep that in mind too. They have a pool and restaurant. You have to walk outside just a bit through the courtyard of the hotel to reach the restaurant and pool but they are there. I did not use either of these but the pool seemed nice, well kept and quiet. Though it did look like they had either a small kid's pool or Jacuzzi that was not working and it was not so well maintained at the time. Keep in mind if you book this hotel, that you are not planning to spend all of your time in a hotel room. It's really only for sleeping and cleaning yourself up. I hope that others who book this hotel won't get too bent out of shape over minor flaws as this hotel really was worth the price we paid and we barely spent any time in it. Our vacation was centered around the beach and the local atmosphere which were both spectacular! Hope...

Serban B, 26.07.2015 În primul rând, să încep cu acele impresii negative: ori vin din partea concurenței ori este vorba despre niște mitocani, care ar fi vrut să transforme hotelul într-un bordel sau club de noapte rău famat. Cum am ajuns, personalul de la recepție a fost foarte primitor, mai ales că noi rezervaserăm bilete on-line și lor nu le venise confirmarea plății. Am primit camera în 10 min, deși teoretic, ar fi trebuit să așteptăm vreo 8 ore, după o noaăpte de nesomn pe tren. Camera era curată, așternuturi f curate, aer condiționat funcționabil, la fel frigiderul; baia era în regulă și arăta ca în reclama hotelului, pe capatul de la toaletă se afla rtia cu dezinfectat. Podeaua era într-adevăr din ciment, nu parchet, dar era curată și avea 3 covorașe care făceau posibile mersul cu piciorul gol. Mi-au plăcut perdelele și draperiile, cu adevat utile în timpul zilei, nu lăsau să treacă razele soarelui. Piscina a fost întotdeauna curată: am văzut cum seara, pe la ora 21, puneau un aspirator subacvatic să o curețe, nu am găsit nici un ambalaj aruncat în ea, nici o pleată, ori alte resturi, nici măcar frunze.Anul trecut, eu am fost la bulgari, hotel de 4 stele, Slavik, unde în cele 3 piscine, cam exageraseră cu clorul. Aici, nu era miros pătrunzător de clor și după cum am observat au avut într-o zi și inspecție, care măsura apa din piscină și aua zis ok. Oameni buni, pe timpul nopții, hotelul arată ca în filmele SF: cum este un hotel sferic, fiecare etaj este luminat în altă culoare, la noi, la etajul 1 era roșu, la următorul era albastru, apoi verde, și ultimul galben, iar liftul interior era luminat de neoane( apropo, liftul chiar funcționa f bine). Grădina interioară era bine întreținută și udată în fiecare seara, aveau și pini, salcâmi și eu am mâncat agude coapte dintr-un dud pitic. Apă caldă, cât cuprinde. Liniște, ne-am odihnit excelent. pentru familii cu copii mici este extraordinar. E adevărat că în ultima zi, veniseră niște bucureșteni f agitați, puștime, care au strâmbat nasul că e un hotel mort, adică nu era vacarm, golănie și cuvinte urâte, apoi aceștia au plecat în altă parte și ne-am scutit de cuvinte vulgare. Când am vrut să ni se schimbe prosoapele, au schimbat tot și cearșafuri , au pus și hârtie igienică la baie. Să le găsesc și un cusur: nu exuista pe balcon suport de uscat costumele de baie, dar se puteau folosi, scaunele din balcon sau bara de susținere din balcon. Dacă deranja cu ceva prin curtea hotelului, era vecinătatea cu un hotel dezafectat, dar aici nu mai e vina hotelului Raluca. De mâncat, noi am La foișoare, un restaurant de pe malul mării, unde se ajunge cam în 10 min de mers f lent, dacă se pleacă prin sud de piscină și parcare; se poate merge și pe lângă hotel Dana, 4 stele, se ajunge în 4 min. Nota 10...

Deplorabil, deprimant!!! Pare un hotel in curs de a fi dezafectat!!! Din vremuri comuniste. In primul rand nu merita nici 2 stele. Discrepanta enorma intre hotelul de 4 stele de vizavi si asa zisele 3 stele ale acestuia! Pozele de pe site sunt inselatoare, dar la detalii e jale. Camere mici, balustrade la balcon cu scorojite, restaurantul ar trebui sa se numeasca cantina. Vesela era ca si cea de dinainte de 1990. Pe site scria mic dejun bufet suedez. Ni l-au dat portionat in farfurii, cam acelas in fiecare zi si trebuia sa alegem ori ceai ori cafea. Nici vorba de lapte sau iaurt. Am cerut mustar si am zis ca il platesc, nu aveau! La ora 17.00, cand am ajuns, dupa 10 ore de drum, ne-au spus ca nu au camere, ca asa le da calculatorul! In aceasta situatie am fost vreo 5 familii. In conditiile in care camerele au fost achitate integral de o luna! Nervi si certuri la receptie, familii cu copii, sunat la agentii..Sefa de la receptie spunea ca nu o intereseza, ca nu le-am platit lor (normal fiecare am platit la agentia prin care am venit, de altfel agentii cunoscute), ca cheama paza, nesimtire...in loc sa isi ceara scuze, sa aplaneze aituatia.Pana la urma ne-au cazat la ora 22.00!!! in camere inferioare pentru o noapte, au montat mobilier, perdele lavoare in camere pt. persoane cu dizabilitati care pareau a fi in pregatire, inca! Vreo 3 zile situatia cu camerele suprapuse la rezervare s-a perpetuat. Alti oameni nervosi, certuri in receptie, telefoane pe la agentii, protectia consumatorului, (degeaba). Drept e ca ne-au oferit o zi de cazare in plus. Am ramas pana la urma, deoarece am venit din capatul opus al tarii, si eram doua familii cu o singura masina si am putut sa mai ramanem o zi in plus, dar altii au plecat mai repede. Cred ca recenzii bune au scris pensionarii nostalgici dupa vremurile dinainte de 1990. Pana si gradina interioara este neingrijita, fiind hotelul circular nu cred ca e prielnica zona pt. o gradina, nu este suficient soare. Nu recomand deloc! Nu luati camere, pare un hotel in curs de a fi dezafectat! Atasez cateva fotografii pt. detalii....
