I booked a stay of seven nights at this hotel through a so called special offer of directbooking.ro for seniors, which included a single room with full board and 21 treatment procedures,as this hotel has apart of the pool with thermal water also a big treatment facility for several treatments ; it is to mention that full board meant fixed and very scarce menus which were brought to the table ; breakfast was really very poor consisting of one cup of tea,a small butter ,three slices of salami or ham and sometimes a boiled egg,jam or a small triangle of cheese ,a very little slice of tomato or cucumber ; at lunch they served usually a soup,a second course and cake and at dinner it was one main course ,pretty small,as you could eat two of them to feel that you really ate and an ice cream or a cake ; the most annoying thing about food was that you had to be at the table at fixed hours exactly ,which meant breakfast at 7,30 am,lunch at 12,30 pm and dinner at 6 pm; it is to mention that this hotel hosts two types of tourists ; the first are the pensioners who come with subsidized stays of 16 days which include this type of breakfast ,lunch and dinner and they also have included 3 treatment procedures each working day ; this stays are of 16 days and the pensioners must pay half of their pension ; then there are the tourists who come through travel agencies and who have half board included, which means decent food and coffee and juice, etc.|I must say that on the first day I asked if I can have a coffee, they said yes,on the second day the same ,but on the third day a waiter told me really harshly that I have to pay for the coffee as I came through the special offer for pensioners ,the most striking for me was the Communist mentality of most of the personnel, that was really shocking ; in general very unfriendly and bored people who let us feel that they were doing us a favor ;|As to the hotel,it is one of those big, massive Communist style hotels built in the 70’s and renovated some years ago ; the hotel in general looks decent, the rooms are also decent, renovated, with new furniture but very basic, with a fridge and a smart TV,a balcony but no AC ;|The best thing at this hotel is the big swimming pool with thermal water with free entrance and free sunbed ;|I also had a very unpleasant episode at the treatment facility as I had 21 procedures and the doctor wrote by mistake 24 procedures ,so on the second day the chief medical assistant made such a big fuss of this that made me feel as I have stolen something ;|The most friendly man,was the man in charge of the swimming pool ! |All in all it was a funny experience and I felt like I made a trip in time...
Read moreWe stayed at Hotel Mureș in June 2017, two adults, one 6 year-old and one 1-year old. |As soon as we arrived we Could see that the parking area was full. The hotel and the premises look terrible, the building has not been renovated, it is grey and horrible. The area around the hotel looks Even worse. It is an old hotel that has not been updated in Any way and you can see this everywhere. The personnel are like from another era, they are oldfashioned, to say the least. |The rooms are clean and our rooms had new bathrooms but you can still Tell that it is an old hotel. You Could not plug in your phone charger because there were No sockets. The bed linen were clean but were too small and they did not change the linen nor the towels altough we stayed there for 6 days. |The one good thing that we enjoyed at this hotel was the food. They do not have many courses on the menu but the food is good in general. The buffet breakfast was a nice surprise as they offer some quality ingredients and Romanian traditional cuisine. We had some problema with pur dinner one night as they do not have a POS unit and they did not want to put the check|on our room so my husband had to go find an ATM at 10 o'clock at night. That was really uncomfortable and rude. |Another BIG problem was the live band music playing every night. We were at the third flori right above the terrace where the band was playing. And we had two children with us. So this was a huge problem but we had already payed the acomodation so we had No choice but to stay as everything was booked in town. I can not imagine what families with children staying in rooms at the first and second floor were going through at night. |I do not recommend...
Read moreHow much can you expect from a 2 star hotel? Well, Hotel Mures definitely exceeded my expectations for the standards in Romania. ||Pluses:||-The rooms are clean, bright , with simple new furniture (we stayed on the 4th floor) and the bathroom looked equally clean, with a reconditioned lovely small bathtub.Comfortable mattresses, new carpets, clean bed sheets. ||-On the side of the hotel overlooking the hotel's pool all the rooms have balconies where you can dry your clothes||- The pool of the hotel with thermal and mineral water is quite clean.||- The employees at the reception are amiable||- Rich, Swedish buffet breakfast (too fatty foods for my taste however)||- Nice looking corridors with clean carpets and new brown PVC doors||||Minuses:||- The male waiters at the restaurant made a bad impression on me, a bit impertinent.||||- I definitely disliked the fact that you can't take breakfast to your room. The waiters shout at hotel guests who do that, making them feel like they are stealing food. If that is indeed a policy they want to keep, the personnel should learn to be polite and explain this policy in a most accommodating manner for the...
